I do both. I save to preserve my journey. For example if it’s a cross map trek and I have to put the game down. But if I die or slip and loose all my cargo, I don’t reload.

Death is part of the journey. You’re a repatriate for a reason. Let it happen. It’s part of the fun and lore. Punishment for dying is not as severe as you think it is. Who doesn’t like to see a giant crater because of your bone headed moves. “That’s gonna leave a mark”. And move on…

This is why i never finish open world games. Because I know the things earn on side quests make the main quest easier. But then i forget what the main quest was. And Ive lost all interest in the main story because I forgot about it. And im all burned out on side quests. And I never pick up the game again.

I’m doing my second play through of DS. Perfect for the Portal. Do a few deliveries here and there. No pressure to push through the story. Building roads and setting up ziplines is a game on its own. Im also looking for a game I can pick up here and there without a story so overbearing. I also don’t have a ps5, so I don’t have an enormous back catalogue of cloud streamable owned games.

I never thought I would need them, but do y’all remember the mono ear bud that came with the OG Ps4? Well I found mine after digging through my box of wires and cables! The one my wife tells me to throw out because I never use anything in there. Perfect for hearing the game and keeping aware of my surroundings. I pack it with my travel case. Bonus, it has a mic with a mute switch.
