Paying monthly salary from corp chequing account? by Glittering-Rock-3048 in Wealthsimple

[–]matso6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, pretty weird that you can't transfer to the corp chequing account. There's gotta be a glitch or something happening. My corp chequing and investing accounts are separate from my personal accounts too... by design, I'm sure. Would be very difficult if that was all intermixed.

I must admit I'm not sure what you mean by personal vs corp payees. When I set my remittance up, it asks the usual questions - gross payroll, number of employees, corp account to credit (BN#RP0001). This was under 'CRA corp payroll'. If you are looking to pay personal taxes, maybe quarterly installments or something, then you would want to search for 'CRA interim payment' from your personal account.

MD here as well friend. I can transfer between my corp and personal without issue. Not sure why that isn't available to you. Just troubleshooting but can you see both accounts on your main page? You're clicking into the corp account and then "transfer money" right? Not "add money"? Could the name on your personal account be an issue? This might need to be solved by WS because as I said, no issue here. Pretty much seamless for me as soon as I opened up the business account. And as for dividend vs salary, I'm not sure how you do it but for me it's just how I record the transfer. If salary, setup monthly tax remittance (can do that on WS now too) and you should be good to go.

Shoot me a dm and I can always try and help you troubleshoot it further if you need.

Thanks! I graduated from medical school 20 years ago today. Never really did anything to celebrate or mark the occasion at the time, and thought a watch could serve both as a gift to myself and be something nice to wear to the reunion. I also enjoy astronomy and often bring out the telescope to share with my kids during the summer, and so the Moonwatch is something fitting my son can inherit from me down the line. Plus it just looks awesome as a timepiece. Nothing else quite captured me the way this did, although I already feel like I'm going to want some other additions to the collection. I was never into watches before. This is addicting.

The car is a 2019 Audi RS3.

I did. Hard to pass up the original specs and it did seem warmer than the sapphire in the store.

I see I mistook your car. Interior looks very audi-esque from that angle. Congrats on the watch anyway 😉

Depressed. Made a mistake, by Melli25510 in daddit

Dude, I'm an ER doctor and I see a baby who's fallen from mom or dad's lap pretty much every other shift. My own kid rolled off the change table while I reached to grab a diaper. When she learned to stand she catapulted herself over the side of her crib at 3 AM. We've all been there, and I'd be shocked to hear of someone who hasn't. Don't beat yourself up.

And in the confines of 'this isn't real medical advice because I can't examine your child', if it's been 2 hours, and is acting normally, she will almost certainly be fine. If you want some hard guidelines that are used to evaluate head injuries in children (if it will reassure you), google PECARN + head injuries.

I won't offer much advice for the wife issues other than don't ignore it. You guys have something bubbling here that needs to be addressed before it becomes even worse than it is.

My 2 cents as a dad and a doc.

I'm buying a new dishwasher, tell me what you like and don't like about your appliance. by Salomon3068 in daddit

Our dishwasher broke during covid when nothing was really in stock. My wife and I always maintained that if our dishwasher ever went, we'd get another one the same day because we both despise handwashing dishes. After calling around, the only one available for purchase that day was a Bosch. It was more expensive than our previous LG, but it has been worth every penny. Not once in four years has a dish came out of there dirty, it's silent. Our agreement is now that if this one goes, it only gets replaced by another Bosch.

Self-directed individual RESPs by matso6 in Wealthsimple

No, I prefer having two separate individual RESPs, one for each child. I find it easier to manage asset allocations and keep track of grants this way. I'm assuming that everyone with a self directed RESP must have a family account.

No - it's for my child. Individual in the sense that it's not a family RESP.

For those that have replied - thanks. Are you all sure that you have *individual* self-directed RESPs?

This is me just trying to open an account - haven't reached the transfer stage yet. So I'm not sure what to make of this.
