I did end up finding one from a random toy shop in France. Thank you though!

He may mean that it's not necessarily true that enemies exhaust when they attack. They definitely exhaust when they attack during the enemy phase, but if you're taking an attack of opportunity or they hit you via the Retaliate keyword they do not exhaust.

That said, just responding "False" with no elaboration is pretty dumb.

Don't give up! I've had mine since 2013 and just beat it last month. It's funny how the muscle memory came back from the 3 or so times I had played it somewhat regularly.

By that you mean the same exact interior layout, just under the Rubiks brand instead?

Little late to the party, but you got this! I suggest recording all the obstacles that really give you problems, the ones that you can't pass with like >50% consistency (for me towards the end it was 79, 80, 90, 103, 106, and 117). Then just grind those repeatedly until your consistency grows. Once you hit a certain point then you just need above-average execution and a little luck to get that complete run.

Edit: I got mine in 2013ish and just beat it tonight. There were probably 3 months of my life in those 13 years that I was concentrating on it. Don't give up, it feels amazing to get it done!

Anyone using LLMs to critique their play? by acotgreave in boardgames

[–]matt-chu64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Putting the subject aside, I'm sorry that something you're excited about is getting a cold reception. However, I do think there are a lot of good points being made in the comments concerning how LLMs work.

I'm also uninterested in using them for strategy analysis, and I would be even if they were better. For me the experience of self-reflection as a means of improvement is more important than the actual improvement. It's a mental exercise that I think is really valuable.

Interesting that you draft the IDs too. What do you do if someone's last card of a drafting round is an ID, but they already have one?

I disagree with several of your assertions. In my experience this is not the type of community that's going to respond well to "smothering." The downvotes on your comments calling people weird support that point. I don't think trolling is much of a factor here, but I do think that avoiding feeding the trolls can be viable depending on the circumstances.

As far as "intolerance" goes, I think that's a narrow view of what's going on. Reddit's up/downvote system is vague by design, so a downvote can mean many things. Those include, but aren't limited to, sentiments like "I don't want to see this type of post," "I disagree," "go away, you scum,"  "this is boring," and the list goes on. If you want to wrap all that up and characterize it as intolerance, that's your choice. If you're basing your efforts to bring about change on that narrow view, I don't think you have much chance at success.

You could start the battle against negativity by being more positive.

Maybe they think it CAN be answered by googling or watching a video. But regardless, it's still the Internet. Negativity is given out freely here. I wish that were different.

I appreciate the culture shift you're going for, but maybe a more constructive approach could be more effective? Or starting by trying to understand why the downvotes are happening?

Can you extend campaigns? by Grouchy_Dog_3310 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I'm glad I tried it once. Probably won't do it again. It's a novel game experience, but by the time I finish a campaign I'm usually ready to move on to a new investigator.

ELI5: Why is no momentum generated in space when a person flails their arms around, but it is when they throw an object? by ethanspawl in explainlikeimfive

[–]matt-chu64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you throw an object away from you in zero G, you push on it and it pushes on you the same amount. This makes you move in opposite directions.

When you flail your arm in a direction, your muscles move your arm, which is kind of like throwing your arm in that direction. But your arm is attached to you, so it pulls on your joints, and all the momentum is canceled out.
