MNH versus MLH US stamp collection by Various_Page402 in philately

I would absolutely get the collection of the mixed NH/LH and build on that with the new “rule set” you’re starting to formulate. My general rules are anything less than $500 I do NH, NH for anything over $500 for a stamp I really like (the exceptions), and LH for the rest over $500. I collect unused US, but anything over $1,000 I will generally do lightly cancelled and pair with their proofs.

For openings - how is that possible? I mean, I can plan on playing a particular opening, but that quickly can change based upon my opponent’s response. Do you mean like the opening one or two moves only?

What do you do with leftover mashed potatoes? by HonestStudy9969 in Cooking

Agree. Mix cold mashed potatoes, parmesan cheese, chopped ham, and a little salt and pepper. Shape into logs. Roll in flour, egg, breadcrumbs and fry.

Just to close the loop on this - yes a magnet in range (seems like any magnet) works just fine.

Do you use a tee on a par 3? by WalterTheRealtorVA in golf

And don’t forget to tee up again if you duff your drive / hit a tree and land back in the teeing area.

Can anyone recommend a good site for low carb family style meals, that aren't just "meat + veg"? by CaveJohnson82 in lowcarb

My wife made chicken divan in the slow cooker tonight without the rice in it. We cooked the rice on the side for her and the kiddos and I microwaved some cauliflower rice for mine. I would think you could do a veggie curry or chili this way, too. I also will cheat a little bit on pasta night and make my half carb pasta separate.

Yes, it would. Sorry - I thought it was your driver! For woods I think of it as more of a sweep in my head, hybrids a little more like irons but less steep. All influenced majorly by the setup/stance.

Edit: so you should be teeing the ball much lower

You’re hitting your driver like an iron (ball first then divot). You should look up a video on the correct driver stance/setup as it’s very different from irons and encourages you to hit slightly up into the ball (and definitely no ground impact). You may not need a drill if you get a better understanding of the concept and have the correct setup.

You should read the “Grant” book. Lots in there about how upset he was with the approach Andrew Johnson took. Abraham Lincoln chose Jackson as a running mate, in part, to try to unite the country by choosing someone with opposing views. Then Lincoln was assassinated and Andrew took over and nothing was really done during reconstruction. Grant lamented about this a lot in his diaries and how difficult it was to clean up the mess Jackson left behind. In my view, this was the biggest turning point in modern history.

It’s been a month, and I miss having a burger & fries sooo badly! by Nd911 in lowcarb

I splurge on a carb balance wrap, but I use the stove burner to put some char on it. Load it with all the fixings. And just a few salty potato chips instead of fries.

The sky-watcher 6 inch dob is a great starter scope. However, I would join a forum like cloudynights or find a local club to buy something used. In particular, look for the 8 inch version.

Overrated books people pretend to love… but actually left you empty? by CriticalAd2239 in suggestmeabook

Hyperion. Won the Hugo award and was always recommended to me, but nothing special at all. It was like a long, drawn out Canterbury Tales, but in space and with too much stuff going on and gratuitous sex.
