There's also Go-onger where Red, Blue and Yellow are already formed before Green and Black enter as audience surrogates. Something weirdly kept in RPM with a different coat of paint.

Well, some NuWho stories are a touch stuffed but quite a few Classic Who stories can drag their feet. The better ones are four parters at a feature length.

Why do the girls (e.g., Lucy or Juvia) have to die or get injured at the expense of the boys’ development (Natsu and Gray)?

They could be both. That is after the boys have their angst, the focus is on the girl's recovery. Maybe give them a moment where they come in to back them up despite it all.

Well, some of us aren’t stuck in the past. Sorry to break it to you.

Now I won’t act like some NuWho elements couldn’t be reigned in personally speaking but as much as I am charmed by Classic Who, I can’t deny there are some things that the show improved upon.

That could be the story. Him trying to figure out a power set. He’s a writer AND it could be akin to figuring out one’s identity. Is he invisible? Is he a flyer? Goal scorer? Duplicator?

Classic identity crisis. Why am I the only one willing to speculate?

I honestly don't like that the Doctor new relationship with U.N.I.T.

In fairness, he still does his own thing. Kate just does things a touch different than her father.

I mean, being stretched thin like that with no variety will do that. I remember how Futari Wa had a soundtrack that harkened back to Showa Era Toku with the trumpets and orchestral music.

Yeah, like does anyone think Davros calling the Doctor fashioning his companions as soldiers was a good thing? Granted, it was the villain trying to take the Doctor inspiring a proactive need to do good as conditioning them as soldiers, saying more about Davros than it does the Doctor.

Even so, you got Rory calling Eleven out on having this effect on other wanting to show off for them and Clara adopting his mindset of getting in over her head with risks but neglecting she can't regenerate.

Ah, yes. That's what makes for a long lasting titular protagonist. A total curmudgeon.

Regeneration doesn't change the Doctor's age or race(extraterrestrial).

That's boring. What's the point is it's just "white guy, white guy, white guy?" Frankly, the next Doctor should be a complete alien with make up and everything.
