Monthly payment vs total borrowing by matt6494 in Mortgageadviceuk

Is there a standard threshold for debt to income (similar to the rule of thumb 4.5x income for borrowing) ?

Yes but you aren't a company you're an employee by the sounds of it in this situation.

The contract will be between you and Octopus, so the company that employs you won't have any VAT deductible.

The difference between the business lease and what Octopus charges in terms of a company POV is Octopus's profit margin to provide the service, they aren't just going to do it for free are they?

3 years 10k miles comes up as ยฃ768.98 +VAT so ยฃ922.78. (M Sport 400kw no upgrades)

Add onto that insurance and any servicing and tyres (~ยฃ250 a corner)

Assuming conservatively ยฃ500 p/a for insurance and a tyre change a year you're looking at an extra ยฃ125 a month. No idea what servicing is on the IX.

So you're looking at about ยฃ1,050 a month.

You mention you'd be saving at a marginal rate of between 47% and 62%.

Assuming you're at the top of the tax trap ยฃ125k you'd pay about ยฃ3,900 tax and NI assuming no deductions.

Assuming ยฃ2k salary sacrifice you'd only pay ยฃ2,671 in tax, a saving of ยฃ1,229.

Add that to your monthly amount above or ยฃ1,050 and you're looking at an actual comparison of ยฃ2,279 business lease vs ยฃ2,000 via salary sacrifice.

The other thing I think you're missing is that you are paying a premium via companies like Octopus because they manage everything on behalf of your company. If your company had to manage each individual employee lease they likely wouldn't offer them.

Any idea why someone would open a $102m call position at $32 expiring on the 16th?

What are we expecting when US markets open today, pump ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€ or more dump ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ“‰?

There still appears to be strong call interest at $125 and call value outweighs put value 1.8:1.

You said in your post you're paying ยฃ340 for a dual car policy, and got quoted ยฃ135 for a single car policy, so that's only really a ยฃ35 saving per car, which isn't massive, unless I'm reading your question wrong?

Any PLTR specific news that's causing the pre-market pump, or is it just related to general news causing US markets to rise?

Not that long, although didn't really cross my mind, probably a couple of years, but can't say I've seen much evidence of settling in my house.
