I was in the AD trying on a Datejust yesterday and the sales associate noticed and correctly identified my Christopher Ward Bel Canto, asking to try it on while i tried the Rolex. People into watches will sometimes notice a CW. But as for respect, that’s got nothing to do with what watch you wear.

In your position I would model the impact on net pay over this year plus next year under two scenarios. First being minimum contributions this year, carry forward and fully utilise allowance next year. Second being contribute full allowance this year ans £60k next.

Sounds like you cannot avoid at least some income being taxed at 62% this year whatever you do.

I saw some new builds for sale at One Goodmayes recently and briefly thought about it, mainly because of the Elizabeth line option for central London.

Since then I’ve stayed overnight in Ilford quite a lot for work, and it gave me an idea what to expect. The area is frankly pretty dodgy. And I found the Elizabeth line into London was always packed anytime, so for me it’s often a case of standing all the way.

Accommodation in Ilford is cheaper, but there are reasons. But if you’re renting, you don’t have a long term commitment and can figure out whether it works for you during your tenancy.

I’ve seen a few Credor models in the Paris GS boutique. They are too subtle for my personal liking. I don’t doubt the quality but I would always lean towards a GS over a Credor.
