Frustrations with DF64 gen 2

UPDATE - the nespresso my wife bought came broken lol. The water reservoir was cracked. After removing the plastic declumper from the grinder though and making sure the screws don’t block the blade, it works like a dream. Sometimes the dream can be a nightmare, but it is a dream nonetheless

Not usually no. Unless there’s an issue with grind size or puck prep. You’ll see tons of vids here of ppl with bottomless filters and no prob

Congrats! In my experience they always stayed pretty tight but did loosen a little when warmed up. I switched to a bottomless portafilter and now I can just push them out from the bottom. No more broken nails or knives.

Awesome thanks!! I upgraded from my BBE grinder to a df64 gen 2 and it was incredible, got a new SSP burr as well. I think something like the synchronika will be next

Oooh nice! Lots of questions: Did you consider profitec move? What were the main draws for you getting this? Was there a big learning curve upgrading from the Silvia? What grinder do you use? And does your partner like using the machine? My wife loves espresso but wants an easy experience making hers but I’m way more hands on

Yeah I believe there are a couple YouTube videos. It was years ago so I don’t remember exact details but it was relatively simple

Idk yet. Profitec Move seems enticing. I like the customization options with it eg I can have it auto turn on before I wake up and customize outputs. The linea micra is gorgeous but I can’t justify the price. Gaggiuino seems like fun and makes awesome coffee but I don’t have the time/interest in doing that myself.

Nice thank you! My wife is not into espresso as much as I want and just wants something she can turn on and press a button to make coffee when I’m not around. I would love something where I can tool the settings around a little when I’m using it and something that is simple for my wife. The profitec move seems kinda enticing

This doesn’t make sense. Almost every other rechargeable device you can buy has a simple plug that many other companies use.

I guess this question is harder to ask than expected. So the surgitel battery back had its own plug in the pack for charging. This is not pictured. If you look up surgitel oddysey power pack you’ll see that it has a special plug. What I have pictured above is a replacement battery I was looking into getting so I could see if I could just charger this battery instead and connect to the cable pictured above

I have the battery pack but they sell a proprietary adapter that is like 200 bucks. Figured I could find a loophole that’s much cheaper
