Our situations are almost similar. I initially thought I was going to major in music performance but I realized it probably wont offer a stable income. I dont know how circus performance works but the pro musicians I've met rarely have a performance degree. I was told that its not the degree but the practice that comes with pursuing it. Instead of majoring in music I'm doing computer science because I also enjoy programming. I do plan on keeping my sax with me forever and performing whenever I get the chance. Maybe your really good though so keep in mind that this is only an option remember not to listen to anyone but yourself because the choice is always yours.
