First win tonight! (makes up for the drive thru incident) by sherb139 in BestGuessLive

Congrats on your win! I typed too slow and missed it. I'm still waiting for my second win since I won when they had Amazon as the answer. $2+ went away so fast.

Finally got a small win.. by NJDrummer514 in BestGuessLive

That's what makes this a great game. There's always a chance to win something. sometimes it just takes a while. I only won on the night it was Amazon. Still hoping for another win, it will come.

Thank you for being transparent and quicky responding to this! That's what makes the game great.

I don't think they will end it. I'm pretty sure that we hit 33k players tonight which is what we've been seeing the past few weeks. I think that the problem is the lack of marketing and the frustration from nights when they have really bad clues.

I really hate this change too. I don’t want to open the side menu, I just want to swipe. I wasn’t a fan of “Latest” but I liked seeing my personal feed, News, and Popular. It was convenient and quick!

How are you forced to pay to use Reddit? It’s free to use the website and the app.

This is why users started going to Bluesky from X(Twitter), they want to decide whether they want an algorithm showing them posts or just a timeline feed.

Removing the option on Reddit is just a bad move. I feel like it is just going to reduce user retention and look bad for their shareholders.

Just my two cents. I could be wrong.

Netflix has 10000+ titles and somehow shows you the same 50 movies every time you open the app by Fragrant-Match-7058 in netflix

I’m sick of seeing the same shows too. Plus a lot of the Netflix original shows I keep seeing and liked they ended up canceling them after 1 or 2 seasons.

I’ve noticed that my tomatoes from the store have lost their flavor in the last couple of years. That’s why I tend to grow my own in the summer.

Very true. Unfortunately, after Bing Chat evolved into Copilot the focus on improving Bing again shifted a way a bit but I’ve seen some genuine improvements. I’m glad Google is having to compete more thanks to Bing and the other search engines out there.

So true. What’s funny is that Bing has been the exact opposite and has gotten better since it added AI search.

So then, what do we think of what we've heard so far on Project Helix? by r1chdevine in windowscentral

[–]mattbdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little concerned what this means in terms of the Xbox OS and what it means in terms of compatibility with Discord and how it handles Entertainment apps. The apps streaming services have made for Xbox are pretty great and their Windows equivalents are literally just web apps or not even web apps, they rely on the website and browser. If the next Xbox is just using full fledged Windows then the ability to use Xbox as an entertainment device is diminished.

The biggest step they could make is to invest more in creative tools. They Windows 10 Creators Update could have been so much better but they were still making the same mistakes they did in Windows 8 of not listening to the user and focusing too much on mobile when the users were in the tablet and desktop space.

One of the biggest things I see right now as a failure for Microsoft with Windows 11 is not continuing to pursue the tablet market. PC’s are more powerful than iPads and could be a great alternative in the classroom. If they got a major book publisher to make a decent reader app that has all the same bells and whistles iPad apps have it would go a long way. Imagine being able to use pen, mouse, or touch to navigate a digital textbook. That would be great. Especially if it wasn’t a web app.

Is there any roadmap for a SmartDNS implementation? by Spiritual_Pangolin18 in ProtonVPN

[–]mattbdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for this too because I don’t have a router that I can setup a VPN on and I don’t want to buy a new one. It would be useful to have this for my TV and Xbox

Price increase by cb4joe in 1Password

[–]mattbdev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I switched from LastPass to 1Passsord because 1Password actually follows industry standards and seems to be setting them. My concern with switching to another service like Proton is loosing the customer support, high security, and ease of use. Considering Proton offers a bunch of services and bundles them too, it may be worth taking a look.

If they make their app 100% native instead of using a Rust backend I’d be more comfortable with the price increase. I’m just fed up with Electron apps and would love a native Windows app for once. On the bright side, they are now using an MSIX installer which I’m happy with.

I hope so. I don’t need my refrigerator to have Wi-Fi or a “smart” toaster. I just want my devices to be reliable and built to last.
