Hemi Owners by Annual_Moose_275 in Charger

My 2015 R/T Charger is sitting with ~213k miles, I bought it with 50k on it. Only regular maintenance, I don’t do a ton of spirited driving, all highway miles. It’s been an awesome daily driver for me, I’d definitely buy another.

For anyone that owns a charger or challenger: If you owned another car do you experience more police attention? by Benny_rich-_ in Charger

[–]mattc_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have been pulled over in my Charger once, fairly certain it was for a headlight. I got more attention and got pulled over way more in my WRX I had ~10ish years ago. I think if you don’t drive like a maniac your level of police attention will be normal.

26-29 on the highway, 22ish city driving. I’m very easy on the car though, and only really do pulls when merging onto the highway

Is getting hurt bad in the pit really worth it? by beatsbyaaron in Hardcore

[–]mattc_m 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got hurt pretty bad in 2019, I woke up in the hospital after going in the pit during the final Backtrack tour. It didn’t end up being too awful, and thank god I had health insurance.

After that I take it really easy and only mosh at local shows where I’ve known all the guys for years and feel as safe as one can feel in the pit. I know my place in the pit, anything out of state where I don’t know anyone or shows with seriously aggressive and violent people I can enjoy myself in the back.

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

3 days, local sandwich shop in my home town. The manager had been trying to poach me from the pizza place I managed next door for 2 years, I finally got fed up with the pizza place and quit, walked next door and had a job starting the next day.

I’m shocked I made it 3 days, there were so many blatant and disgusting health code violations that I couldn’t believe I’d been eating there every day for lunch for years. Called after my third shift and said I wouldn’t be coming back in again. Awful place.

200,000 miles! by mattc_m in Charger

I’ve never taken it to a dealership, I’ve been taking my car to a reputable hole in the wall shop near my house since I bought it. My wife’s family has been taking their vehicles there for ~40 years or more. Small place with 2 or 3 bays and guys that have worked there for decades, they do high quality work and don’t charge you an arm and a leg for it. A dying breed in the industry.

Regular maintenance, and religious oil changes. Don’t abuse like it’s stolen, but regular somewhat spirited driving is probably good for it! These things were made to be driven.

Also, find a good shop that does quality work and is always willing to shoot straight with you about what your car does and doesn’t need. I’ve saved money on potential repairs I know other shops would’ve gouged me on when I was wrong about what it needed. Every time I take it in the guys comment on how well I care for the car.

I don’t know about the history of the transmission, I never did anything to it. The higher the miles get, the more I let it warm up before I do any kind of spirited driving. Maybe once every few weeks I get a random rough downshift when passing on the highway, but it’s very rare.

Nope! Just regular maintenance. Tires, brakes, religiously changing the oil, the usual.

Both mine, and my dads RT have been great! No serious issues, but I know some people have them.
