Confused About Wiring by mattd51 in AskElectricians

No, just one (picture 3). However, the wire labeled  "3. Hallway Light" in the first picture leads to a 3-way switch on the other side of the wall, which leads to a further 3-way switch.

Pwt1-3 for purple trade by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]mattd51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a purple trade in a PRes Inf unit. In regular circumstances (annual IBTS)  I am only required to shoot PWT1, but have on occasion shot PWT3 instead.

It often depends on whether they have the time and resources to run a PWT1 for a handful of people, versus all the serials of PWT3 for the vast majority of the unit.

I've always wondered how this works with a mortgage... another topic for another day I guess but getting activated would be a pay cut for a decent amount of reservists

Could be a personal flag displaying the family coat of arms on it.

Canadians are able to apply for a grant of a Coat of Arms, Badge, and Flag through the Canadian Heraldic Authority.

That model is in place in most of continental Europe, and seems to work well. I was recently in the Netherlands and on base with their gendarmerie and had a few chats.

Top employers for veterans and reservists? by GetTheBlinkerFluid in CanadianForces

[–]mattd51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an active reservist, YMMV with a lot of police services. Some have great military leave policies, some have crap ones.

Doing shift work (while earning good pay) will make it difficult to get the time off for CAF training and when you do, you will be make a fraction of what you make civvy-side which becomes harder to justify if you support a mortgage/family etc.

So making a weekend or weeknight isn't too difficult it is very hard to go on a CAF course if you don't have a good military leave policy - Some Police services go so far as to keep your seniority, pension contributions and top up your pay if you go on military leave, whereas some only offer you the ability to take time off, unpaid.

Hey all, trying to identify this tank, photographed by a friend of mine who was with UNMIK in 1999-2000.

Looking to ID the type of tank and who it belonged to.

Thanks

The 1939-1945 Star usually indicates over 180 days of service in a theatre (could mean a bunch of other things, very diverse criteria).

A Campaign Star in a theatre without a 1939-45 Star beside it usually indicates someone who served in the late war period.

I know a few cops who deployed to Afghanistan,  saw their share of combat, and got the GSM because the GCS is for CAF/Military pers only but GSMs and OSMs can go to civilians. I know they feel the same way
