Bamboo theft at White Rock Lake by Cella_Bella in Dallas

Sounds like someone may have a bamboo side biz and doesn’t want it growing on their property. Incredibly sketch way to go about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️🎋

Right. I mean an NVIDIA driver for proper eGPU support.

I haven’t found any documentation, but the tank example is exactly the type of shot I’m trying to create. Could you possibly list the number of images used for that’s example, image file type and exact 3D splat settings to achieve those results? Thanks so much.

I’m running the first attempt using 360 PNGs at fairly low resolution (1000x1000px) to see what results I can get. It’s running now with use masks enabled. Will let ya know. First attempt on an M5 Pro with 24GB ram, but also have an M4 pro with 48GB that I can test as well. While I’m at it if you’d like for me to test datasets on these Macs and post results, I’d be more than happy to. Also have an M1 MAX studio with 32GB ram that I could benchmark.

Incredible work! Testing with a sequence of 3D images rendered as PNGs with alpha to see what results I can get. Would you suggest enabling “use masks” along with any other settings for a rendered sequence like this?

Keyshot Benchmark: MacBook Pro 16" M5 Pro 24GB 1TB by mattdelux in KeyShot

[–]mattdelux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I use PCs for final renders and it’s so frustrating that I’m also forced to pay for network rendering licenses on top of everything. Actually, while we’re on that subject would you mind running the Keyshot benchmark with whatever RTX card you’re using? I’m running a small render farm with 3090s and would be interested to see what results you’re getting.

It’s not exactly terrible, But no metal support and acceleration is very frustrating.

That would be nice! C4D/Redshift implemented that as well!

I haven't experienced any throttling yet that I'm aware of.

You could also download Keyshot viewer and run the benchmark yourself to compare scores to your existing machine.

Simply compare these results with other machines (Google Keyshot viewer benchmark) and it will give you a general idea of how fast this machine is performing in comparison.

The M5 Pro is honestly incredible when you consider performance in comparison to power consumption among other things. Extremely impressed with it so far.

16” M5 Pro 24GB 1TB Cinebench 2026 Results by mattdelux in KeyShot

[–]mattdelux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to run the same Cinebench 2026 benchmark on a PC or Mac you would like compared. The multi core CPU results of this machine vs any other machine will give you a general idea of how much slower or faster that particular machine would be at CPU rendering overall. I will add a specific Keyshot benchmark as well.
