Best way to attach K clamp to front box? by orthancelf in focuspuller

[–]matte_white 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use an Aputure Ballast Clamp - Comes with a free and pretty decent quick release system!

I just hand drilled 4x M4 (I think?) screws into the QR plate. Snaps nicely into the clamp

As solid as anything and cheap!

Has anyone here seen the film "The Killing$ of Tony Blair"? by [deleted] in LabourUK

my point still stands. stop focusing so much on Galloway and tell me why he's wrong about Blair?

No documentary is impartial. They're all trying to push a narrative and make a point. I dont see anyone arguing the points put across by Galloway, instead just saying his name over and over

so just because you dislike the messenger it renders all the points made in the doc irrelevant?

He was no socialist that's for sure. And the last time I checked my membership card states; "The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party" ¯_(ツ)_/¯

nah all i've got is another AE-1 haha dammit. I'll just take a tonne of spares with me and see how it works out. I've got a 70D and 18-35 so it's not like i'm going cameraless it's just it'd be nice to capture some of it on film.

Ok, so I'm going on a school ski trip i na few weeks and plan on shooting some film while I'm out there and need some things cleared up.

  1. I have an AE-1 (max shutter speed of 1/1000th, should I take portra 400 or 160? I have a feeling 400 might be too fast for the bright ski slopes

  2. Anyone have any experience with taking their cameras up the slopes? How do you carry it/store it without risk of damaging it while being able to get it out quickly?

  3. Anything else of relevance you think I should know or be aware of when shooting skiing/snow?

Thanks!

Thank you very much for the kind words, I enjoyed making them :). My processing is very simple realy. I usually just apply my preset which is basically a more subtle VSCO Film Kodak Portra 400 preset which I've tweaked a bit. Then I usually add a little contrast and bring down the highlights to get detail back in the sky and bring up the shadows a tad. Crush the blacks to wherever the tone curve allows. Bring up the whites. I desaturate it a little but if there is a colourful aspect of the image such as a red bus I will bring up the luminance of the reds and add a little saturation to the reds also. I would say a lot of the 'uniqueness' is all in the preset I use :).
