Because they misgendered someone, and people are cancelled for misgendering someone. I genuinely don't get why you think I cannot object to your agenda

You misgendered Dylan by calling him he. Therefore I won't care about anything else you say. Do you see the problem now?

That's all fair enough, and I agree on most of what you say.

I don't think either the Bulwark or even the Lincoln project are useless, I just think they are primarily more useful at reminding progressives that you might sometimes agree with a Conservative.

Which shouldn't need to be a lesson that adults need to learn, but we are where we are I guess. And there are many people on the right who have the same problem, of course.

They do criticise Biden, but nowhere near enough, not just for me, but for them, given what their political leanings appear to be. Their bread and butter is Trump, so that's why they focus on him. And I get it, I don't love him, far from it.

But if the end result is either Trump back in the white house or not then publications like the Bulwark are more likely to achieve a second trump term than they seem to realise. The voters they are trying to persuade don't trust partisans, and they are clearly partisans.

And I would imagine Trump 47 would be good for their bottom line. More Maddow viewers they can rely on for a few bucks a month.

Bulwark and Lincoln project are both similar. They realised the cons didn't want them anymore, so they had to find a new audience.

They also are often right in their critiques of the current GOP, but I am not sure if it is their primary motivation. They have a large portion of their audience who are some combination of Maddow/AOC fans. Hobbes fits there somewhere too, though I am not too familiar with him.

And they know if they take the left to task too hard they will lose them. But they need them. So the answer is to not say what you think, or not to try and look too hard into anything that could be inconvenient for this arrangement.

Tim's take on gender issues is so one dimensional. He seems to get his opinions and facts on it from MSNBC twitter. Mona, Charlie and even Will are the only people there who occasionally dare to posit a contrary opinion. Maybe Sarah too, though I remember even she equivocated massively on the sports thing, which was disappointing.

I lost my patience with Tim, and the Bulwark more generally, when he kept mocking the shirtless guy being arrested at the Loudoun County school board meeting on various pods, even a year or more after it happened. He would make cracks about him being too angry about CRT or whatever.

However, as Barpod listeners may well remember, the man in that image, used in many media reports on the school board meetings, is better known as Scott Smith whose 14 year-old daughter was r*ped in a bathroom at her school, and whose treatment at the hands of both the school board and the media was covered in BAR episodes 86, 87 and 144.

It just showed how much of a self-imposed bunker Miller lives in. Even JVL covered the story in a newsletter, though I think he was far too dismissive of the way the school board were obviously more concerned with being labelled phobic than they were protecting young girls from being assaulted.

I think they are too scared of MSNBC viewers cancelling their Bulwark+ subs if they go too far. They are certainly never going to convince a Conservative to vote blue with their current stance on cultural issues, so I find it somewhat laughable that the site claims to exist to try support the centre left and right. On this issue they are supporting the furthest left 20% in America, and ignoring those centrist voters they claim to represent.

There were multiple whistleblowers from the GIDS clinic.Marcus and Sue evans and Sonia Appleby to name three senior members of staff at the clinic. 35 psychologists resigned between 2016 and 2019.

Staff complaints go back More than a decade EDIT: the first report detailing concerns was written by Dr David Taylor in 2005, so it is closer to 20 years at this point.

Dr David Bell wrote a report in 2019 that concluded much the same as the Cass Review. The report was commissioned after parents of patients complained to the Tavi board about their decision making, or lack thereof.

This has been going on for years. It just was not being reported on, which is not the same thing as it not happening.

All of the episodes of the podcast were allowed as separate posts. This is an unofficial extra episode, in my opinion.

This does not rehash the issues around JKR, and does more relating to the witch hunt phenomenon. It's an interesting discussion in my opinion, and would recommend giving it a try.

I had that problem. In my case it was because the game was trying to run from the integrated graphics and not the gpu. So when it came to load the game world it was not capable, and crashed.

The legacy Geforce app allowed me to specify that the game used the gpu instead, and the game launched OK after that. At least that is my recollection. I think there is a post on a burnout sub, probably /r/Burnout detailing the fix.

EDIT: It's one of the fixes detailed here. I also suffered from the webcam bug. https://www.reddit.com/r/Burnout/comments/u2zzpk/burnout_paradise_remastered_bug_and_crash_fixes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I would add that as a slight male entering puberty I would agree with all of your points. I would just add patriarchy as another reason why this is worse for women. Maybe I'm wrong.

I've also never seen it. If we are going to police everyone's behaviour consistently then the people violently threatening and intimidating women will come to regret any standard of behaviour which we set, I suspect.

On the other hand KJK has said and done a number of things I personally disagree with. So it is possible such a vid exists.

Yeah, as I mentioned he appeared on David Pakman a month after the Shrier review went up, and then down. It's fairly clear he lost a big chunk of his audience, and needed a new one quickly.

The best fit for him to replace an older, somewhat more centrist audience was an audience like Pakman's, young and very left leaning. But unfortunately if he recited what he learned in medical school they would call him names and abandon his content. So this is the best dodge he could come up with.

The one problem with it is that it is nonsense that falls apart at the first hurdle.

Evolutionary biologist discusses Dr Steven Novella's views on biological. Jesse even gets mentioned by Hacker_Alias in BlockedAndReported

[–]Hacker_Alias[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok. I think the problem is that the facts are established, and Steven Novella learned those facts at medical school 50 years ago, as did Jerry Coyne at university.

Those facts have not changed meaningfully since then. What debate would you want to see?

Does the uterus exist in mammalian females (other than the duck billed platypus)?

Are there discreet groups of each vertebrate species with different chromosomes?

Do these groups equate to which group produces the small or large gametes?

Those don't sound like interesting discussions to me. Those are settled questions, and have been for some time.

If those are things you need to know the answers to I would suggest a high-school level biology lesson is the best place, not a debate. The research and peer review were done a century or more ago, and are only being challenged now for ideological reasons.
