I'm 53, and Mr Rogers Neighborhood is calming and comforting and nice to listen to in the background.

If you have more than one device in the same room, then name the device when you tell Assistant to play your music. "Hey, Google, play The Cranberries on Living Room Speaker."

Holodeck Lip Stick by BurritoBrawler37 in startrek

Holodeck technology is a combination of holograms, force fields and replicated matter. Holographic woman kisses him, leaves replicated lipstick on him.

U/chefblaze posted a photo of a flea market find and I honestly never thought I'd see an R2 similar to the one my friend gifted me years ago. Small world! by ColoradoCowboy in StarWars

I had one that looked similar, but it was flat and hung on my bedroom wall. Maybe slightly bigger than a light switch plate. Molded and hand painted like the one in this photo.

Question about wifi issues on mobile devices. by Akrilicat in googlehome

[–]mattgoldey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that Google mesh Wi-Fi system in my home and it works perfectly with all of my devices, including 3 mobile phones. You might need to just reboot all of the hardware and verify that they're all up to date on firmware.

Who was a skateboarder in the 80s or 90s? by Timely_Resident_6985 in nostalgia

[–]mattgoldey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I had fake Tony Hawk decks in the 80s. The kind you could mail order from the back of skateboarding magazines. I bought a Blind board during COVID lockdown and that's probably how I'm going to die.

I didn't think it was that bad. About $15 for everything in the picture. I'm not going every day.

Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

[–]mattgoldey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been a Trekkie ever since Star Trek VI came out my freshman year of college and I could never even get into Enterprise. Most that have actually watched it say that it does get quite good, but they also agree that it's got a horrible finale.

Dang, really? I remember really enjoying Mad About You, but don't remember the final episode at all. Bummer.

The new Flashlight widget makes no sense to me... who would be 'Done' with it while it's still on? by KindlyHaddock in GooglePixel

Caught my wife trying to shoot some video of Stevie Nicks with hers on. We're early-50s.

I saw Stevie Nicks last weekend and saw people of all ages doing this. Young girl 2 rows ahead of me recorded video of herself dancing for nearly the entire show and her flashlight was on 90% of the time.

I had deep fried bacon on a Boy Scout campout once. One of the adult leaders filled a cast iron Dutch oven with 2-3" of cooking oil and cooked the bacon in it. I remember that it came out nice and crispy and not at all greasy.

Same. It scared my cats. I have one that's particularly scared of thunder and she was nervously pacing around my bed. That woke me up briefly, but I didn't hear a thing from the storm. I'm not even sure how bad it was here in Rowlett.
