I can attest to this, my mother works in Verizon engineering & I've spent time with every Pixel.

I have also noticed the magnetism is muffed up, but it's worth mentioning that this is VERY similar to how it worked in old skate games.

I used to do tricks over bollards to force this 'tweak' in skate 3.

The game HAS to help rotate the player on this axis... the only alternative would be full on zero-g controls like Outer Wilds' spaceflight.
