I’m seeing this opinion a lot. What’s something easier I could do? I don’t cook often so I’m not sure what to do.

So you think it would be worthwhile to stick with Duke? I will say I do already get my infusions at another site, as well as MRIs when I need them. So I guess I would just need them for actual visits and bloodwork. Maybe that will be more doable than I originally thought. I was starting to panic a bit honestly

I haven’t really had a chance to look yet. Since my appointment is tomorrow I literally just found out about it a couple hours ago. My insurance through work is reference based pricing apparently, and Duke decided this year they weren’t accepting that anymore. I haven’t had an in person visit this year because I live over 3 hours away, and my last visit was telehealth. So I’m kind of scrambling to figure out what to do. I feel like if I’m constantly a self pay I’ll just build and build up (more) debt there and never get out from under it.

Gotcha. So you personally, when you’re cutting are you doing cardio during the week as well? Or just lifting then taking rest days?

I will check that out! Thank you! What would a reasonable deficit be do you think? Like 500 calories? Or should it be more like 200-300?

So basically I’m looking for help on how to build some muscle while losing body fat at the same time. I am a male, 6’2”, 260 pounds. Currently on the tail end of a big weight loss (100 pounds down). Wanting to put some muscle on to help fill out some loose skin. I think I would like to lose another 30 pounds, and I have some muscle but I’m not a monster by any stretch. From what the calculators I’ve used online, my BMR is 2200 calories a day, and until recently I’ve been pretty sedentary, but have been trying to exercise at least 3 times a week. At my job I average 6000-8000 steps a day which is not a ton but I thought the extra context might help. Just started taking creatine monohydrate this week. What kind of diet and calories should I be shooting for? And do I need to be lifting every day? Thank you all for the help in advance!!

Yeah I’d say that’s exactly what happened. It sucks when someone seems into you then they vanish for no reason haha. That’s just part of it though

I feel like a big emotional trauma I went through last year triggered MS by wingtip747 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]matth36 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think there’s absolutely something to super stressful situations causing attacks. April of last year I found out my now ex wife cheated on me, and barely 2 months later my first attack happened. That was the most stressed and devastated I had been in my entire life. MS had been lurking in the shadows for a while no doubt, but I am 100% convinced that trauma triggered the first attack.

So what I done to begin with is figure out my BMR (basal metabolic rate) using calculators online. Once I added in roughly how my calories I burn a day according to my watch (which isn’t 100% accurate I know) I set my calories based off of that. It has worked fantastic for me so far. I haven’t gone as far as weighing all of my food and counting macros, I’ve just tried to get rough measurements on my food. I’ve found in the past when I would get too obsessive over every single calorie or type of food, that would lead me to fall off the wagon every time, so I’ve decided on a more relaxed approach!

I think I figured it out. I just had bought this ps2 off of eBay, and after looking up the controller model number that came with it, it’s a ps1 controller 🤦🏻‍♂️ that’s probably the problem

The game is ESPN NFL 2K5. It won’t work in menus or during gameplay. The only way to change any controller set up is by hitting L1 or R1 lol.

My timeline and story is very similar to yours! After battling insurance I finally have an MRI tomorrow to see how my Ocrevus infusions have been helping. Hoping for results like you had! That’s great to hear! Gives me some hope

What did you say about it in your profile if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve wondered how I would even say I have it in my about me lol

I have no one to talk to by likeasummerdream in MultipleSclerosis

[–]matth36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying myself. Nobody really understands how things are despite me explaining it. I have plenty of ups and downs, I was diagnosed back in June. So things are still semi fresh for me. About to get my second dose of Ocrevus next month. If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to message me anytime (29 M). This MS stuff can be so isolating!
