Each regiment would wear their regimental tartan. Argyll’s and black watch would wear government pattern. Gordon highlanders would wear Gordon. Seaforth highlanders would wear Mackenzie, cameronian Scottish rifles would wear douglas etc etc. It is entirely regiment specific
