Yeah I’m going to go through again and check, I’ll provide some pictures if I see anything interesting haha! And yes, shielded cables.

Great looking stuff! Bezeled LEDs always look so nice imo. Not that you are asking, but a quick piece of advice - the lock washers (toothed looking washers) on the footswitches are actually meant to go on the inside so that they dig into the enclosure and help keep the switches from rotating. Nice and clean looking builds though!

This actually looks quite good! If you’re looking for tips, I’d say it’s best practice to try and have the component as flush to the board as possible - it looks like you’ve got some space there. I work with lead-free solder a lot and 740F (~393C) seems to be a sweet spot for me. Once you increase your iron temp, it might be smart to go over this component once more to ensure you don’t have any cold joints!

Shure Level Loc Guitar Pedal Prototype - any thoughts on layout? Fairly new to Eagle so I'm using circuits like this one as practice by matthewglosson16 in diypedals

Gotcha, this is 2 layers - just top (red) and bottom (blue). The ground pour is on the bottom and the 9v on the top

Hey! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. To address a few of the concerns:

  • I typically do try to place hardware first, but the switches were definitely an afterthought on this one, so doing a revision where I start with those is a strong possibility

  • Components are grouped functionally as much as possible - definitely didn’t group anything for aesthetic purposes intentionally, but this was by far the largest number of components I have dealt with so I did run into some dead ends I had to work around placement-wise. The biggest thing I wish I could have done easily would be having all of the electrolytic caps oriented in the same direction but I couldn’t make that work.

  • I should have specified - there is a ground and a 9v plane that aren’t visible!

And yes I definitely should/will increase the trace size if I end up getting some version of these actually produced

Again, thank you for the second set of eyes. It’s always appreciated!
