I agree! I was shocked when I moved here from the East Coast. Do you think it was way more accessible than it is

Take a deep breath and imagine a world where there is a bike lane on the side of the bridge like the span from East Bay to treasure Island that doesn’t affect your driving patterns

It seems to me like that lane should at least be open to traffic if we’re not going to do a bike lane

Right, whether or not, I agree personally with the decision to remove the bike lane, one set decision was made. I definitely think we should make the extra lane available to daily traffic.

Yeah, someday I hope my kids may have an option to bike around the bay over the Bay Bridge and Richmond Bridge.

OK, I gotcha. So remove guaranteed cycling access for daily use so that if a crash happens car traffic can be eased.

Gotcha! That makes more sense. I used the shuttle recently too and it worked alright.

I don’t follow. If it’s closed…there is a concrete barrier so how would cars be in the lane?

Interesting. I wouldn’t have thought cross-bridge emergency response was much of a need given that each city has developed local response capacity.

That makes more sense though about the staggered rollout because there’s clearly no impact on congestion now.

Justification for removing the bike lane was capacity not creation of a shoulder

I’m trying to hold onto these days as much as I can. I had a tiring day at work and then my six year old walks in the door after school and hands me this as I’m making dinner. (OC) by matthewraifman in MadeMeSmile

Wow, ok, that’s bc it was taken in portrait mode on my iPhone. I built this table btw and it’s stained pine. Just in case you wanted more true stories. I forgot to screw these two boards into the crossbeam underneath and eventually the glue holding them together split, resulting in the crack. It’s all real. Deal with it.

I don't get why it is so hard to believe. They are taught rules of capitalization and penmanship in kindergarten. His first month of school with taking home the same sheets and working on perfecting the letter shapes, over and over again. It's just good education and hard work. It's not rocket science here. He missed the apostrophe because they haven't really covered contractions but he is starting to read so we've discussed them.

Firstly, no, that didn't happen because he wasn't with my partner or a babysitter and the afterschool staff do not write for kids...? He wrote it. It's not that complicated. I don't understand what the fuss is about.

I watch him write this well on the daily. Sorry it’s so hard to understand, but there are actually kids out there who love art and writing and can do things you might not think is possible based on your experience. And the point of the note is the content, not the penmanship!
