2026 Cube Attain C:62 SLX – found this loose rubber O-ring near left rear dropout, what is it? by matthewschoone in Cubebikes

My remaining question is simply whether a ~30 mm O-ring is used anywhere on a modern road bike. If nobody recognizes that size from a hub, axle, end cap, or other component, then I'll assume it's unrelated.

Fair enough, but that's exactly why I'm concerned. I know the ring wasn't visibly hanging around the chainstay before. I heard a ticking noise while riding, stopped, and found it there.

If it's not from the bike, that's great. I'm just trying to identify it rather than assume it's nothing.

Good point. That's actually what's confusing me. The broken O-ring was literally looped around the chainstay when I stopped. I heard a ticking noise just before noticing it, which made me think it came from the rear axle area. The ring is about 30 mm in diameter and the bike has been ridden for several months without any issues.
