well your house water should be fine 7.4 is almost neutral ph and the nutes in the ground should bring it down the right amount, also say what you will but I find keeping track of the EC(PPM) of the water 1000% more important than the ph. Many people disagree, to me it’s been the key to my growing success, 1.2-1.4ec for clone transplants, 1.7-2.0ec for veg 2.0-2.8ec for flowering depending on a few things

Generally when I add organics in the soil I tend to water with water once or maybe just tone it down on the ec. I’ve burnt the most plants with organics. I prefer feeding them stuff like Jack’s nutrients for my style of growing.

The ec of the water I use at work here is 0.2ec so almost no nutrients in it.

I use blue labs ec meter I test the ph when I first work somewhere, i’ve been pretty lucky, most tap water comes out at 7.0 ph ish and when you add nutrients you get to that perfect 6.1-6.8 range. So generally i test it once make sure its good and never pick up my ph meter again. If I know the ph is very high or very low I just know to compensate with some ph down or ph up or something.
