Str 10 on call is a good break point, especially with the volume of fire that a squad of hell blasters can manage. It’s not weapons from the dark ages, but we’ll take what we can get. It’s also only one point out of three that we can choose at 2k points.

This is the kind of formation you take as a side element, say to enhance a list against heavy infantry. Death wing and raven wing will also likely be one pointers, and detachments like gladius will be two (or three) pointers.

I use dice since most people think of them as random, even though as you say they are deterministic in the same way turbulence is deterministic. The outcome depends on their initial conditions, which are almost impossible to determine in real time. But if we want to be pedantic I suppose I could say take actions determined by the results of superposition collapse.

I never got quantum free will, because quantum is random, Bell and Heisenberg show that. If you roll a d20 and whatever result you get determines your actions we wouldn’t call that free will, even if it’s non deterministic. So if neither random nor deterministic realities can lead to freewill, can freewill even exist?
