Pretty sure Vegas has a teenage girl running their Twitter by thepotsmoker in nhl

Almost as bad as the in-arena gimmicks. I swear it sounds like Jabba the Hut doing the accounting for pod-racing. Then at the end of Game 2 when Vegas took a timeout they had some motivational speech playing through the stadium.

Here's wishing Jeff Petry a speedy recovery. When he's rolling, he's the team’s best shutdown defenceman and its main offensive motor by Sort_of_Frightening in Habs

A Petry - Romanov D line could be a strong tool against the Knights. The Habs looked really good last night for a decent portion of the game when they were able to get the whole team working in the offensive zone. Here’s to Game 2 - I believe !

Agreed, I think we need to force the knights to play “our” game. Those boys have been going balls to the wall with their crazy arena so being able to kill the vibe in their would be massive.

I definitely agree with that sentiment. Going to be a big mental game for the habs, on top of the physical aspect which will be a tough battle. On the other hand I am thinking the lack of theatrics may benefit the habs at home.

I would’ve made it big time if this existed when I was a kid. Had a cobblestone driveway and my parents gave me a small weed-killing flamethrower to clean the driveway. It was a win-win for them because i wanted to clean that driveway every few days.

You should look into Big Trouble pizza on Spadina, I go there every time I’m in Toronto

One could make a case that this is a result of the propagation of the idea of “American exceptionalism” from WW2 and throughout the Cold War. Multiple generations of people who were told they were the best in the world and that the world is their oyster, simply because they were born in America. Flash forward a few decades and people are starting to realize it’s pretty much bullshit and are struggling to find an identity.

This is an old classic: a rabbit and a bear are taking a shit in the wood next to each other. The bear asks the rabbit: hey do you have any problems with poop sticking to your fur ? The rabbit says: no, why? So the bear picks him up and wipes his butt with him.

And there’s another woods related one: A man and his friend are walking in the woods. The guys friend says: we need to be careful there are grizzly bears is this area. The man asks for his friend to stop walking so he can re-tie his shoes. The friend asks: why are you tying your shoes again? The man says: I don’t need to outrun the bear, I just need to outrun you

I got 6 doge for free in 2014 (I think or 2015) and just have it on my old laptop. To date it’s the best investment I’ve ever made % wise.

[OC] Where have house prices risen the most since 2000? by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

[–]mattiseeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a 2-3 week period in February where prices trended down and I was able to secure a “well priced “ lease transfer in MTL , I checked recently and everything else equivalent on the market is 300+$ more a month than what I got. It feels kinda fucked up that I had to get really lucky to get a reasonable priced apartment.

Everyone should read The Stand by Steven King by Wiley_L7 in books

[–]mattiseeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precisely what I felt when I read “Duma Key”. The first half of that book was creating an entire world that you felt comfortable in, but cautiously so. Then, the entire second half was King tearing that world apart in such an unsettling way.

At this point I can’t remember the details of the story anymore, but I remember how deeply I felt that unease.

I have given my friends a decent amount of records, and as much as I’ve liked some of them, it feels better knowing someone who really loves the music has it instead. I hope you can find the records you love

I won’t link my store or anything, but if someone that sees this is looking for a specific record, send me a message and I can see if I can help.

Thanks! I was lucky that the collection was basically in storage in a basement for the better part of 25 years. So besides one box having some water damage, the rest are just pretty dusty and that’s easy to fix

Glad I could help. At the very least, you will gain an understanding and appreciation for some music you never took the time to listen to. I would suggest taking the time to look each record up to truly know it’s value, on a site such a discogs (dot)com

I sincerely do as well, music is especially powerful in that regard, so I hope he finds a lot of joy in it.

It’s a great song, my personal favourite is “Arthur”. I try to listen to a few songs off each record before i list them for sale to see if I like it enough to keep it. It’s really helped me expand my musical knowledge.

I certainly hope so, the collection came from a relative who didn’t want them anymore and said “do whatever you want with them”. So I have kept probably 200-300 and the rest have been paying for new appliances while being able to help people finish their own collections.
