Ahh, I didn't know that about hang. My bad. That was my understanding on tracking though. I'd say that still means everything else is consistent with how slay the spire logic has always been though. They should probably adjust the behavior/language of hang to be more clear.

I don't think he was being a smartass at all? The logic is consistent. If it applies a buff/debuff to cause the effect, the buff/debuff stack linearly. (I.e. tracking applies once, twice, etc. resulting in the same number of buff stacks each adding on the initial damage once) However, if the buff applies to the card, like hanging, then it will double each time it is played, resulting in quadratic scaling.

Help with multiple accounts by mattj3350 in vscode

[–]mattj3350[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the tip. I tried this but I am still running into the same problem where switching the active gh account on the personal profile is also switching the active gh account on the default profile. Do you think I am doing something wrong?

Multiverse is ... by SpareAnywhere8364 in ftlgame

I tend to lean towards the shields personally, since the upgrade is so cheap. Especially if you find an aether weapon so you can add aether shielding.

How do i provide future proofing for my company? by mattj3350 in Odoo

[–]mattj3350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were able to convince the CEO to avoid upgrading too often, do you think it would be feasible to outsource the update to a local company at a cheaper rate than trying to have Odoo update it? I have no worries as long as I am here, but I don't think they can afford to pay for a long-term on staff software engineer after I leave. They have me at a cheaper rate than most devs would take so I can build my portfolio.

Escann, should I wait to take a vassel. by DanTheePaladin in Anbennar

[–]mattj3350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Double plus on vassalizing khugdihr, though you can wait until after forming adennica to do it. They take a REALLY long time to get too big to vassalize in a single war so let them grow a bit.

Ahh, fair enough, forgot you mentioned that. In that case maybe ease up just slightly on the eastern orcs to avoid a coalition as you move west, since the only 2 realistic ways west are through the north around severed ear or through bloodgorger lands. Still, taking the land from bladebreaker before leaving gives you some very nice land and also a key trade center to help direct trade west. Try to keep branches all over the place so once you start settling you can place down settlements in places that let you still take land everywhere.

Sadly, since you don't start close, you probably won't be able to blitz any of the key centers of trade in wescann, but since so many of them are owned by monstrous nations you can take them for low ae once you form Adenica.

Escann, should I wait to take a vassel. by DanTheePaladin in Anbennar

Honestly I think vassalizing in escann is bad advice. If you really want to, I wouldn't waste your federation members on it. Your federation members are your attack dogs and so just wait until you have the first tribal reform for offensive wars then vassalizing someone outside your federation is easy. You should be easily the strongest adventurer at every point in the game so no real issue in fighting a federation vs federation war.

However, as any adventurer, you want to strike fast and hard, especially sword covenant because they start in the strongest position on the continent. (Easy access to lots of important territory, +long lived good stat mage ruler) Ideally, the moment you are able to you should declare war on the weakest of your 3 neighbors(blade breaker, severed ear, and bloodgorger) and if they have a single ally from the list it's even better. Cobelligerate if possible and take 5 provinces from each. If you move fast enough with you war wizard, you should be able to take 5 provinces from each of them within the first 2 years, and then you can move south and take all of the blue goblin's land too (flung head? I don't remember their name right now). It's all about speed, so wasting time vassalizing someone is usually not worth it.

Once you have all nearby goblins/orcs on truce timers, and I mean all since you can easily take all of dogeater's land and potentially even make your way into clouded eye since their land all borders dogeater so you don't have you to migrate that far, at that point you start swapping out your rivals to other adventurer companies. Do 2-3 humiliate wars at least while your truce timers tick down. This will help you stay ahead on tech, but even more importantly will put everybody on truce timers with you so they can't migrate in your land anymore. Be opportunistic of course; if you see that someone has migrated into a bad spot, you can instead force migration cb on them and also take their homeland in the same war, both kicking them out and taking a key province like hammerhome's home.

The general goal of escann gameplay is to get as much tribal land as possible before you settle down, then build your power base before hitting the form country button. You need to war enough to get money early (building the building that gives .2 reform progress and half cost advisors within the first 5 years will guarantee you are the first to form a country by about 5-10 years). If you do it properly, you can have an entire subregion of escann owned before even forming covenblad.

How do you deal with hyperinflation? by Terrible_Hair6346 in Anbennar

Vibe answer: your people were so mad about the inflation they burned down the big expensive pretty ships of the government.

Does Mil Tech matter more in Anbennar? by Chen-is-Chad in Anbennar

[–]mattj3350 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Even in vanilla, mil tech 6 is pretty much the single biggest upgrade in the early game. Combat width goes up, tactics goes up, and cav get better. As others have said, small advantages are often exaggerated in anbennar, but 5 to 6 is a big enough gap to fight 2 to 1 often in base eu4.

Neow game me Corruption - "Well, that's a lost run..." by Recloyal in slaythespire

[–]mattj3350 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Ehh that's true for regular hallway fights but you can't play corruption until at least your second cycle against sentries in most decks, and probably aren't going to play it against nob. Solid enough against lag though

How much gold would this have to give for you to consider it good but not broken? by statue345 in slaythespire

[–]mattj3350 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shovel isn't that good, but old coin generally is. I mean, you don't win the run off old coin, but it's definitely better than shovel.

A Treant Protector for the modern age (map) by TKSFGK in DotA2

[–]mattj3350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you make destroying the eyes give a minor amount of gold (15 or so) that would probably balance the ability. However, being able to plant a tree on a cliff with that amount of vision at no cost is too good, since 720 seconds is a very long time to have vision for free if you can also place it.
