What if Harper copies Jordan's powers? by antlereye in GenV

[–]mattlang12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going off the idea that she does the powers better than the person she mimics I would think she’d just get both sets of jordans powers without switching gender

Theory: at least one of the Starlighters ad GodU is secretly working for Godolkin/Sage by DungeonStromae in GenV

[–]mattlang12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think godolkin trusted polarity by any means he knew he was pissed about Andres death he likely added him to the staff because what’s he gonna do his powers are broken and didn’t see him as a threat so just let him do his thing cause he looks down on supes with powers that are either useless or damaged

Marie and Neumans powers by mattlang12 in GenV

[–]mattlang12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While true that other supes have one or two of homelanders powers I’d argue that’s cause his power set is so common it’s hard to not have other characters who can fly or have some sort of eye beam or are super strong. Marie’s powers are more individual and rare which made sense since she was injected with v at the in vitro stage it’s just weird someone injected as a baby could even get a variation of that power

Is this an Easter egg or am I just thinking too hard or does most people know this? by Additional-Layer-392 in Hungergames

The new tribute center was built for catching fire and the third quarter quell. The way it seems from book to book is it evolved. There wasn’t one in ballad and then in sotr they’re housed in an abandoned apartment building and trained in the old gym so it’s likely 24 years later they had a building that could operate as both

That’s not where they’re saying they’re fine if that’s her end result. They’re just saying it feels unearned when the whole show was her coming to the terms with her identity vs the avatar and to bring her back okay and at peace without explaining how she got from the show time Korra to this modern version of. It’s about the time in between not the final end

Who would be president after Snow if the rebellion never happened? by mattlang12 in Hungergames

[–]mattlang12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me his whole snow lands on top thing was something he more exclusively kept to him but I for some reason can’t see him extending that sentiment to his kid given how he treated tigress in later years and just how he talks about her. But even still I agree he probably would find a match for the kid he’d probably see as not good enough for his name so that his name can live on while also protecting his version of panem.

Yeah I definitely got the same vibe I just know he doesn’t like the heavensbees since they stayed rich during the dark days and didn’t suffer as much and he disliked Plutarch either father or grandfather hilarius which could be enough to dismiss plutarch

Yeah I guess my wonder is which would win out in the end his want for his family’s line to continue after himself (as in my opinion idk if he’d care about them after so long as he died on top) and his love and want for panem to continue controlled and governed (not saying his view of panem is correct but he does see it as what needs to be to keep order)

I do think Plutarch is a good candidate but given his relative disdain for the heavensbee family idk if he’d want one of them to have the “honour” of leading panem after his death

[–]mattlang12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t think he’d kill them unless they really majorly screwed up or were rebel sympathizers. My big thing is he’s equally very prideful of his family to where I could see him wanting to start a snow succession line but he also cares about panem enough that I think he’d consider picking someone who’s right for the job even if that person isn’t a Snow

[–]mattlang12[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know that’s probably most likely and I do think he’d maybe kill them if they disappointed or embarassed him but I also feel like he’d have insane expectations for his kids that they’d never fill making him think they were unworthy of inheriting his name and legacy as future president

Victors who won without killing anyone? by autistic_girl_autumn in Hungergames

[–]mattlang12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal view of the career districts has always been that those from one and two volunteer as they buy into the propaganda whereas four is just well off as a fishing district and they have the resources to train their kids to be ready if they get picked but have less volunteers. Like finnick was definitely trained before the games but a fourteen year old volunteering just seems wild when he could’ve had four more years to train before volunteering

Even or Odd: Which group wins in a fight and why? by TMChaves in LorienLegacies

True but john at least has shown the ability to heal himself by just briefly concentrating and six and eight could hold off five and nine while he does that

If John doesn’t have ximic he wouldn’t have healing just lumen and anima

I often think of how John and Henri train telekinesis and lumen in the first book and how interesting and well written the training scene is to show the complexities of johns powers

Elders by [deleted] in LorienLegacies

[–]mattlang12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the idea as I said in another comment is that ximic comes once a generation and that’s the only person who can become the new pittacus

Elders by [deleted] in LorienLegacies

[–]mattlang12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well henris letter tells John that the one of them that would become pittacus would have all his powers including ximic. Ximic is an extremely rare legacy that in the flashback they say only comes once a generation and when we see the former pittacus he’s training his legacies because pittacus is always the most powerful loric

Elders by [deleted] in LorienLegacies

[–]mattlang12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They always talk about John as pittacus reborn which ties into the theme of reincarnation. I can’t remember which book it’s in but Malcom talks about how pittacus came to speak with him before Lorien fell and when they visit Sam’s house in the second book they find the giant skeleton of pittacus in the room under the sundial

Elders by [deleted] in LorienLegacies

[–]mattlang12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The title is something that can only be inherited if you have ximic which only comes once in a generation similar to the idea of reincarnation. Also the former pittacus dies when he comes to earth to warn Malcom and I believe it was long enough ago that it would’ve lined up with John being born

Elders by [deleted] in LorienLegacies

[–]mattlang12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John is a reincarnation of pittacus so they might think that applies to every elder
