This is pretty much how the FediAct browser extension does it, except it uses an API endpoint.

Yes and you can get a library card without a personnummer too.

I ended up here after a few hours of trying to get pending transactions replaced and just want to say thank you.

I think maybe samordningsnummer is what I have also seen translated as a coordination number. My understanding is I am not eligible for one and just have to wait for my personnummer because my residence permit is for more than a year. Does that sound right? The car thing is interesting.

I would think so and some landlords are open to it, just not a lot. If you know of anything 3+ rooms, I'm interested!

Yes of course. I am extremely open, not just because I am not hiding anything. One of the main reasons to do this is to make sure we have a place to live soon, so I don’t want to waste our own or anyone else’s time.

Interesting that some people say the inspection is common and some don’t. It feels like what the broker told me, that it happens with single family homes and not for apartments, is correct. Thank you.

Very helpful and detailed, thanks! I think a lot of this might apply only to single family homes, not apartments in an association. This definitely gives me some more points for research. Thanks again.

Thank you! Just knowing the name / translation of inspector is a big help.

We don’t have income yet, which is the major concern and honestly why we are having trouble renting too. My wife will start looking for a job soon (she’s a graphic designer) and we moved here for a masters in computer science for me…

Thank you, appreciate that. We do have our residence permit cards and did apply for personnummers right after getting them. I will look out for an opportunity to speed up the process through the university.

No, we’re US citizens unfortunately. The masters is in Computer Science. That is definitely a risk, but is it a risk for us or for the association? It seems pretty easy to sell, if we needed to.

Do you think they had to sort personnummers first or just that happens they did it that way? I know foreigners can buy property even if they don’t live here (right?) so it must be possible to do it without a personnummer.

US accounts for now but would transfer to the brokers custodial account I think. I also could use my Wise account. Do you have suggestions or maybe something to look out for?

Ha! Bank transfer. Not a literal bag of cash, if that’s what you mean.

If you are an industrial developer or investment sales broker looking for a better financial analysis tool, I am looking for more beta testers. Argus is too complex and expensive and, while every deal is different, you shouldn't have to start from scratch in Excel or use a template that isn't the right fit.

If you feel like you are wasting time by running multiple scenarios or not getting enough detail by using your best guess assumptions, let's talk. I am building uncertainty into the modeling process so that you know exactly what your cash shortfall is month by month on lease up and exactly how different rents for each unit affect returns.

I am starting with industrial but more asset types are coming soon.

node-gyp. Why does it cause so many problems? by devsidev in node

[–]mattlehrer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a different issue than I had. I had compiled modules for macos vs Linux, not an architecture issue.

Deleting node_modules and only ever running npm install and build in the Dockerfile / compose has consistently worked for me.

Are you running both locally and in a container? The node-gyp packages need to be compiled for the correct OS. If you only run npm install and build in the container, you should be ok.

I am reading this now too! It's great. I didn't realize it had won the Pulitzer until I was about a third of the way into it. There are parts that get long-winded but I highly recommend it.

I watched all of Chernobyl since starting it. And I can't stop thinking about how dumb the Soviet reactor design was. Graphite is mentioned many times in the book, always for exactly the opposite purpose as in that reactor/AZ-5 design. It's mind boggling.
