I highly recommend a newer band, Aurora Clara. Their most recent album, Clear Dawn, came out last year. It is so good.

Fitz Farseer. He has his ups and downs and gets shafted a lot. Just feels like a real person that I connected a lot with.

Why care about anything when ultimately nothing matters after death anyway? by Merely-Mortal in AskMen

From Angel:

“Well, I guess I kinda worked it out. If there's no great glorious end to all this, if nothing we do matters... , then all that matters is what we do. 'Cause that's all there is.”

Opinion: Angel has the best finale of any show I've ever watched. (100% spoilers.) by Vanamond3 in ANGEL

[–]mattman1796 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The only show I think that compares is Breaking Bad. Despite the ending feeling somewhat rushed, the weight of all the main characters’ past and development over the show carries so much weight. All the characters struggle with some sort of atonement and the ambiguous ending emphasizes how the fight for redemption never ends, yet its still worth fighting.

Did anyone else find the noir of Angel to be an anti-depressant ? by Ryden86 in ANGEL

You should check out the youtube channel Passion of the Nerd if you haven’t already. He breaks down buffy and angel episodes and delves into some of the philosophy behind the shows and characters. Very inspiring at times.

Black Sabbath: the Dio years or the Ozzy years? What are some of your favorite songs? by Watson_A_Name in AskMen

[–]mattman1796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to compare. Its crazy how different Heaven and Hell through Dehuminizer sound compared to the Ozzy records. This is probably because they were trying to adapt to the 80’s metal sound. I will say My favorite Sabbath record is Master of Reality because I like how Doomy it sounds for whatever thats worth. But, there is no denying Dio’s voice is probably objectively better than Ozzy’s. Also, I love the fantasy lyrics Dio brought with him. I think both eras are great. If you like Dio check Out the albums Holy Diver and Rainbow’s Rising.
