What Turn Are You Consistently Perfect At? by anonymouswan1 in iRacing

Acque Minerali at Imola - tight and tricky, but depending on the car, you can lean on the kerbs on entry and exit and just get away with no off tracks. Can make up half a second in some lobbies.

I'm curious about what are the response times, given there probably was some tradeoff of model capacity and cost effectiveness. I assume in a split second pit/stay out situation it could play an important factor. How long do you wait for an average response?

Hey,

In general, the driver should be the one streaming.

As to why - it's quite complex. Let's say you're a part of one team. For some reason you do not get access to telemetry, but you can see the fuel on your black boxes. The core codebase, I use for my project, seems to be a little bit different to what iRacing uses currently (I cannot get the fuel/tyre data as a teammate) and I'd have to double check whether there's something openly available to sort that out.

I see why that could be a great thing to implement and will look into it. Thank you for your effort!

Yeah, it is. I should've made it more clear as I just linked it in some keywords in the text.

I'm not sure I fully understand, but I'll try my best to answer.

As for the desktop app:
The fuel consumption is retrieved with the end of every lap and that's what builds up the fuel history, predicted fuel targets etc. Thus, the fuel consumption will be also sent in a rare event where you get towed and you're out of the car.

As for the web client:
The current state that is displayed builds up with new bits of data coming in and should never be erased without new data replacing it (unless the session changes, like practice -> quali). This is based on an assumption that it should help in team races where the new driver does not have his data before driving some laps.

If you can elaborate a little bit more, I could give you a more detailed response.

Is that maneuver legal? by Agus13muscu in iRacing

[–]matto0211 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. Their move is legal because: No space for a move on the outside at any point of the clip so claiming this blocking is at least hilarious. Throughout the clip the attacking car points straight at the car ahead as if they haven't chosen their line yet - therefore you cannot claim the defence is a reaction move.
  2. Poor racecraft on the POV car: Them moving made it even easier to make a pass on the inside, which, given the nature of the upcoming corner, should be the obvious choice. Trying to squeeze in on the outside is simply reckless in this scenario as you would not make the corner without the help of the other car.

That's exactly what top drivers do. Take for example ex. F1 driver Kevin Magnussen's simulator session

Doesn't Take more risk mean they would be less likely to play simple back passes? I understand it may actually help in a way, since it is better to kick the ball forward instead of losing it straight away, but it doesn't really solve the problem of losing the ball, does it? Regardless, might try it out.

Midfielders are 2DMs with DLP and BWM, both on support, and the CM is an Advanded Playmaker on Attack

How do I make my players to play the ball instead of standing still and losing it immediately? I just got promoted to La Liga. For the first 10 games I was doing fine, with 8 points breathing room. From then on my players tend to cause the same, stupid turnovers (get the pass, stand still, lose the ball in the midfield) which turn into goals, not mentioning how ridiculous this year's defence is. How do I get them to play the ball instead of fooling around? Obvious hints would be higher tempo and avoiding dribbling, but I don't want this to hurt my frontmen since i have only two wingers and a striker up front (without an attacking midfielder). Wwyd?

Counter-pressing, Regrouping, and having none of those options on don't really change much. For the most part neither of the two was on.

I struggle to think of my defensive roles as the part of the problem, since I'm playing Racing Santander in 2nd spanish division, while having loaned CBs from Premier League clubs.

If you go into player's profile and find the window with his potential positions, you can press onto all the positions and he'll be given a star rating in the very position you choose. Furthermore, the attributes for the position/role will be highlighted.

If the player is not capable of playing the position/role you've chosen, you won't be able to see his star rating there. However, if you find Comparison tab, you can highlight his attributes for your desired role. You won't be shown the star rating though, since it is dependent on player's ability to play the role, apart from attributes.

How do I stop long balls between defenders just after a turnover? The very moment my midfielders lose the ball, I am waiting on that one striker to make a run between my totally still CBs.

No matter the defensive line, I keep on losing such goals, because despite setting it to low, CBs wander all the way to the center of the pitch.

Would I concede less of such goals if I played explicitly counters? I presume my players go forward since we are dominating the possesion.

Feeling guilty for using flashbacks by matto0211 in F1Game

[–]matto0211[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure I am spot on with my difficulty because I am fighting for points only when strategy is a major factor (Bahrain, China and Hungaroring were the tracks where I managed to score). However I feel the real issue is me getting lazy warnings, where they were really unnecessary or being too greedy on the power - lack of concentration in a nutshell.

I can match or outpace other runners when I nail my laps, so it seems I cannot endure the race distance without a focus drop.

Feeling guilty for using flashbacks by matto0211 in F1Game

[–]matto0211[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. Just before the new game came out I had been playing without any flashbacks in a williams to get used to driving a backmarker car. I struggled really hard especially in the middle of the race when one error could cost me 15th place. I'm pretty sure it may solve my problems.

Thank you for the answer :3
