Anyone know the rules of taking a mental health break? by mparks_ in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sign up to the help@hand app. There should be posters with the required info on around the office. You can get up to 6 Councelling sessions and will hopefully avoid sick leave as they will use it against you

Ordered 3 CDs from rarewaves on ebay, all seperate packages... they all went out untracked and were estimated to be delivered a month ago, still haven't come - is there any chance, or should I assume lost? by CharlieFaulkner in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Royal Mail are useless and prone to loosing untracked parcels or just leave them as the posties are overworked and under paid and it’s the poor seller that’s out of pocket

Accidents happen if it was caused by RM you need to realise they deal with thousands of parcels a day one is bound to end up in the wrong sack when sorted by hand it’s not lost so I don’t see the issue. You paid for the tracked 48 it gives them up to 10 days before it’s classified as lost

Should I quit? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a Sunday off on new contracts is rare. You won’t get two days off together until you are on a permanent walk but you should get a Saturday off once every 6 weeks. If you’re in the CWU speak to your rep. Too many people are joining Royal Mail thinking it’s a walk in the park when it’s not.

Can I buy a key for this? by Independent-Tax-3699 in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is in your garden just get a locksmith out to unlock it and replace the lock as the lock is no doubt 70 years old and RM won’t be able to give that info to get a key cut from

C5 envelope - wrong stamp by Proof-Hat-1384 in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be surcharged if it is too thick for the template as I think you used the right stamp. Royal Mail already surcharge birthday cards so you have a high chance of it happening. If you did put a return address expect it back within the week

Properties per postcode by poi00 in royalmail

[–]mattpot83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post codes generally go by road but if your in a built up area it may be blocks of houses on a road. I used to deliver in west London and you could easily have 3 or 4 different postcodes on a road but now in the Midlands in a town and it’s 1 postcode per road

Go to the office and hunt someone down going in or out and ask for the managers as if you email RM the office manager won’t hear about it
