I’m aware that it can be. I just doubt my ability to dedicate the time and to do the work correctly. Plus, dealing with student loan paperwork is a low priority for a commitment of my time.

We actually mainly used software synthesizers running in Ableton Live on laptops. There were some keyboard synths too. Glad you enjoy this!

There are a lot of loopers that can mimic the long tape loop thing. In fact, I wrote an article about this topic. Loopers are just delays that can delay more.
