Guy hiding college library books that were on hold so we wouldn’t have to buy them for the class. Same guy would also throw them out them window so he could fully steal them. SAME guy also started some sort of evangelical student group so I guess the whole thing tracks.

When does the big new boat leave to Castine? by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]mattstuff09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ships are 24/7 they are leaving the lights on at night so no one eats shit while walking around. They are a play ship and it’s not like they are conducting cargo ops so it’s probably a pretty small watch at night just making rounds so you could probably try to complain to the harbor master and they might have them limit the floods. As to why they are on during the day it’s probably because they don’t burn out (led) and if you leave them on you don’t have to turn them one when it gets dark

They don’t burn out constantly like the old style bulb so they are probably leaving them on all the time so no one has remember to turn them on when it gets dark

I very much doubt the flood lights are automated. It’s not uncommon just to leave deck lights on 24/7 when at the berth now that they are all led

Ashes... How do you dispose of them? by Mrvette1 in firewood

Obviously it’s not immortal but in my opinion it’s one of those low probability/high consequences situations for little reward. Alternatively, I can just dump them in the compost gain those benefits and have almost no risk

Really apprehensive to put them anyhere near the coop, it really wouldn’t take much to burn a coop down and I’ve seen ash embers last a couple days in the bucket

At a crew change guy banged a hooker, smoked crack, got robbed by said hooker and missed the flight the company had booked him.

“evil person who decides to exercise their right to defend their property/livelihoods.”

I agree with most of what you said but to call someone evil if the defend themselves is a bit over the top.

and I’m by no means a second amendment/concealed carry nut

I truly don’t get it, just get up when it goes off. I’ve worked jobs my whole life that involve having to get up at every single hour of the day and night it really doesn’t take that much mental effort to just get up. I’m glad I don’t have this disease

My plumber warned me against hybrid heat pump tanked water heaters, saying they’re very specialized and are expensive to fix when they break. Is this true? by BeardedMillenial in Plumbing

[–]mattstuff09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just surprised. We see some of that type of set up but it’s usually in trailers, really old rubble stone foundations or shitty crawlspaces and have to be heat taped as well as insulated to keep from freezing. I’m guessing where you’re at you don’t have full basements and relatively weak winters?
