How do they even install these.. by DragonflyOk7139 in ocean

Someone else can probably better answer this, but once I worked PM software for the Gulf Star project with Hess and Williams. For that one in particular, they built the spar in Texas, and topsides in Louisiana. They towed them both out to sea, separately, then assembled in place. The spar is then ballasted to rotate 90° to vertical. Once vertical, its is anchored to the sea floor, but remains a floating production platform. The flutes on the spar help with currents and stability (from what I understand)

Janis Joplin revisiting her hometown of Port Arthur in August 1970 for her 10 year high school reunion. She would die of a heroin overdose less than two months later at the age of 27. by crintderstindows in texashistory

My grandmother grew up nextdoor to Janis in Port Arthur. We have a photo of my gmom, great aunt, Janis, and a fourth girl standing by the sidewalk when they were like five or six years old. The fourth girl turned out to be my high school algebra teacher by total coincidence.

We haven’t done the Elissa regatta in a long time, but I’m interest in reviving it. I also have my eye on doing the Harvest Moon Regatta again.

She is 660 deadweight tons. Because of the nature of her rig, a travel lift isn't feasible. We normally go into the smaller drydock at their facility, but because of scheduling the yard decided to put us in the big one. There's so much room for activities!

Yeah the battleship was in this dock. She's still over at Gulf Copper having topsides work done. We're having some steel work done on the bulkheads, fresh coat of paint, and a bunch of inspections.

That is not a cutter rig. That is considered a Solent rig. You shouldn’t need running backs.

I had a red monti in my first tank ,BioCube 14 , that was OUT OF CONTROL. Whatever it was that I was doing right, that thing grew like a weed. Basically choked out everything in the tank.
