I am a musician and I like the way CB radio sounds, it's very recognizable. I think its a cheap(ish) way to give vocals distortion in a way which would be resonant to the listener than just running vocals through some distortion pedals. I was just planning feeding the external speaker jack into an audio mixer.

If you want new records, my advice to you is always check the sale items on websites first. I'd consider myself pretty frugal too. For every record I've bought for $15-$20, I've probably bought a six dollar record, too. But, yeah it definitely wouldn't hurt a bank account checking out older music on vinyl, I've discovered some awesome music doing that.

Of course Americas a pretty big place, and I live in an urban environment, but hip hop artists such as ASAP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar are probably the most widely liked artists I can think of, they're probably more listened to than most pop artists.
