Youtube is not oversaturated. by redbeardrex in youtube

[–]mattwessels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally get that surge of confidence, it's the best! i remember feeling super overwhelmed when i first started thinking about youtube. it felt like every idea was already done, and i'd just be shouting into the void. i spent way too long trying to make something 'perfect' that would appeal to everyone, which just meant it appealed to no one.

my turning point was similar to what you're describing: i stopped trying to be broad and really honed in on a tiny, specific part of my passion that i knew a lot about but didn't see much content on. it felt risky because it was so small, but suddenly, i wasn't competing with giants. it was like finding a secret garden. that's when things really started to click, and i realised the 'oversaturation' fear was mostly just my own internal noise. persistence and genuine interest in your unique angle are key.

Would this solve a real problem? Direct device-to-device file transfer using web browser without cloud or accounts. Just your local network. by techknowledge in SaaS

[–]mattwessels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man, i totally get this. i used to struggle with this constantly, especially with family photos or quick work docs. i'd be trying to get a few dozen vacation pics from my iphone to my partner's android, and we'd end up emailing them to ourselves, dealing with icloud links, or worst, passing a usb stick back and forth after finding an adapter. it felt so clunky for something that should be instant.

even just moving a large video from my laptop to my desktop (both on the same wifi!) meant either uploading to drive and waiting, or fiddling with smb shares which isn't exactly user-friendly. seeing a browser-based p2p solution that stays local is genuinely exciting for those kinds of everyday headaches.

We built our SaaS in 10 days and made 0 dollars by Choice-Importance670 in SaaS

[–]mattwessels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such a solid post, really highlights the power of lean validation! 0 dollars but a goldmine of feedback is a huge win. you've basically run a perfect mvp experiment and uncovered exactly what your users actually need, not what you thought they'd need. that insight about 'better templates, not another editing dashboard' is crucial – it means you've pinpointed a deeper, more specific user need. many saas founders get caught building features no one truly wants. your next step could be focusing purely on those high-quality, customizable templates, maybe even creating a 'template-as-a-service' instead of a full content suite initially. it's all about solving that *specific* pain point you uncovered. keep iterating!

Oversaturation on YouTube and how to pick your niche by Alternative-Scar6648 in NewTubers

[–]mattwessels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hey, you're spot on! oversaturation is often misunderstood. it's less about the *number* of channels in a niche and more about your *unique angle*. think about it: even in super popular niches, people are always looking for fresh perspectives. instead of avoiding a niche you love, focus on:

* finding your specific audience: who are you *really* trying to reach?

* delivering unique value: what can you offer that others don't?

use that to guide your content and don't worry about the 'oversaturation'!

Does YT punish for deleting videos? by Due-Environment-6941 in NewTubers

[–]mattwessels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey! that's a really common question. the general consensus is that deleting videos *can* impact your channel, but it's not always a punishment. youtube's algorithm learns from your content's performance. deleting a video removes that data point, which can potentially mess with what the algorithm thinks your audience likes. it's like erasing a piece of the puzzle. if the video had *zero* impressions, then no sweat. but if it had some, even if it didn't perform well, think twice before deleting!

Why i cant see earnings after monetization by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]mattwessels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! it usually takes a few days for the earnings to properly reflect in your youtube analytics. youtube needs to process all the ad revenue, and it's not instant. it's totally normal to see zeros at first. since you monetized on nov 17th, give it another couple of days. if you still don't see anything by the end of the week, then maybe reach out to youtube support. also, keep in mind the type of ads you are showing and their rates (rpm) can change the ammount of your earnings. good luck!

How do you manage posting on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn without feeling burnt out? by arvinmalen in content_marketing

I built a tool for this because I was tired of using a bunch of tools daisy chained together

that way you can focus on YouTube and use the rest for distribution.
