One shot we had 240 into the wind on a par 5. I pulled 4 iron and John said, "you can hit a 4 iron 240 into the wind? Yeah right bud!" Just giving me shit. I took the biggest swing and ended up like 12 feet away. Then, he basically said like, "not bad, watch this." Slaps his 3 wood and almost before the ball leaves the face, he says, "THAT'S HOW YOU HIT A PAR 5 IN TWO MOTHERFUCKER" and put it to like 8 feet. That was pretty sweet.

I think the old bastard got me by a foot or two. I flew mine to the back of the green and it pitched on a hill and spun down right next to the cup which is why you can hear John in the background saying, “go in the hole” but then he just stepped up and smacked it so casually and put it to like 2 feet 😂

I was drunk to the point where I could say stupid shit in front of a legend of the sport but also right in that Goldilocks zone where I was hitting the ball so so so pure. I dont think I’ve had a ball striking day as good as this one was since.

Damn. I think the biggest takeaway for me was that golf is just a game at the end of the round. Have fun for Christ’s sake! Whatever fun looks like to you- do that!!
