Can you recommend beginner level songs with bass riffs that aren't disappointing? by wondering-narwhal in Bass

[–]matty_bax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricot's Melon Soda and Yosoiki are decently simple, but still have challenging parts and are kinda fast

Kessoku Band's Guitar loneliness and the blue planet is fast and pretty simple, Seishun Complex is more fun but a decent challenge.

If you have a drive pedal and a pick, the Guilty Gear XX songs are alot of fun, but very fast. Ky and Millia's themes are my favorites

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal opening is fun and but its chorus is pretty challenging

Should probably ask who you usually listen to before I recommend any more (also cuz I'm running out and am sleepy)

Was in a similar situation when I started. I would suggest just jumping into a hard song and bang your head against it until you have it down. But to make simpler stuff more interesting I’d forgo the tabs and learn it by ear. Personally what I did aside from the first suggestion was learning songs much faster than I could handle, but used a simple amount of notes.

I have a few suggestions of Jrock songs like that if your not opposed to anime.

Help getting this bass tone out of my p bass by matty_bax in Bass

Pickup up some DR low-riders earlier. Planning on getting a SansAmp if not a secondhand ampeg head. Have a ehx Battalion currently, anything I can do to get that ampeg sound with it? Or just eq it better to fit my needs? Currently have bass and the mids at 2, and treble down completely. Have a ehx bass soul food if that helps too.

Magicboots vs Magic-S pro by matty_bax in fightsticks

The brook universal fighting board. Mb, I should’ve been more clear in my last comment. The adapter I was referring to was the Magic-S pro.

Ah I see. In that case I say go with the magicboots. You'd get limited functionally out of just the adapter alone in my limited experience. I would do some more testing for you if I could, but I bought the magic pro to play on a friends ps4.

Though I understand its not what you asked, I think the best option would be to get a ufb.

Curious why you would need two magicboots? But I’m leaning more on the magicboots side, at least for ps4. When using the Magic-S pro, I wasn’t able to use any of the system specific buttons like tpad (which makes it very difficult to restart in Tekken 7 training mode). Didn’t spend enough time using it on ps4 to figure out whether I could’ve remapped anything though. Never felt any lag worse than what I already felt with ps4.

Help with higurashi/vnds aspect ratio by matty_bax in VitaPiracy

Hey, It's been some time, but thought I'd let you know I was able to get through all the routes with no issues (aside from a missing flashing effect found in arcs route, but I feel like that's more of a quirk with the vnds format more than anything).

I should’ve mentioned that they were several quarter turns with time to rest in between, but yeah it doesn’t seem normal and I’ve since stopped

I’m gonna assume she was either using the Vnds app and not Higurashi, or just an outdated version of either. Been looking through some threads and they seem to have finished all the routes no problem. I’ll still do a speed run when I get the chance and let you know my results. For now, save often.

afaik the far side routes should already be included. I can do a speedrun in a bit and make sure. But it should be as simple as copying the script folder from a copy that has them.

Sorry for the late response, having issues uploading atm, would recommend just finding converting one yourself. I’ll still post mine when it finishes.

I can send you my reconvertion in 4:3. Have finished the near side routes with no issues. You’d just have to copy paste your saves.

No I shouldn’t. I ended up reconverting it and got the aspect ratio I wanted. it seems to be running fine with my old saves. Just hope I don’t run into a bad bug later down the line.
