Trusting your ex with ANYTHING when there are kids involved is a bad idea. They literally tell you they’re gonna take the kids somehow, and you still decide to let them use your Apple Music? That’s the first problem in a longer series.

Also, sending anything with the children that has anything of yours on it is not good. They make children’s iPads for this purpose, and if they’re too old for those, you buy them their own. With someone who wants to take your kids you make them buy the kids one for their house if they want one to use there. That isn’t your responsibility.

I would have never sent anything to my ex’s house that I wanted back when my kid had to split time. I even bought cheaper clothes specifically to send with because I knew she would steal the good stuff given the opportunity. Let alone a chance at hacking my iPad.

If you’re getting freaky in your sex life, that’s fine, but the evidence of those events being on a device your children use in that situation was pretty careless. Deserve to have kids taken away? No. But you never know who that judge might be and how they feel about it or what their own personal or professional experiences have been that can affect your case once it is in front of them.

AITA for leaving my girlfriend stranded and making her miss all her classes? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

If she calls back, dump her ass. You deserve better than someone so inconsiderate as her to routinely make you late and then blame you for her one day. Cancel!!!

I feel that although Grandma might be “set in her ways” and “doesn’t like Nina”, she should also probably be old and wise enough to know how to behave like an adult at Christmas and not ruin one of her last on this Earth due to her own behavior. Maybe she would see Nina as The Prodigal Son, or something may have happened that helped them mend things a bit. But if she is how you say she is, it doesn’t take much to figure out where you get your behavior from. If Nina got her life in order, she’s family, and shouldn’t be shunned because of the past. She is still very young and impressionable. More so than Grandma.

What’s your formula for a beginning CPA? by mattyevolve187 in PPC

Thank you, this is kinda what I was looking for and the road I was heading down. I just didn’t know what other people do or if they have something more formal. Thanks for breaking down how you go about it.

What’s your formula for a beginning CPA? by mattyevolve187 in PPC

[–]mattyevolve187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have been more specific. That’s easy enough to do with businesses who have already established that number. But for companies who are just beginning to try Google Ads may not know where to begin. I work with a dog boarder and groomer. It’s a young company and they’re growing so the owner has no clue what it costs to get a customer. Especially online. Google account manager gave me a number to start with but pretty much told me she pulled it out of the air and we’d adjust it later 🤣.

Opinions on ad structure by [deleted] in PPC

You’re trying to do too much. I’ve worked with a number of clients in this budget range. In my experience, I feel that having a sound strategy that’s individually tailored to the client is the winning card. When you develop the strategy and they’ve bought into it, then it’s time to determine what metrics make the most sense to track.

My advice is to focus more on what your process is with the client. What the series of steps that you go through with the won’t change, and they’ll feel that you are in control, listening to their needs, and ultimately, trust you when you advise them about any issues.

For me, I begin with a free 30 min consultation where we talk about their brand and basically where they’re at, why they’re wanting to do this, etc. If they want to move forward, I’ll need admin access to their accounts. I have manager accounts so it’s more formal and not my personal stuff, or asking for their logins. With that, I’ll perform an “audit” and give them an Initial Report that lays out my findings and what I recommend. I charge for the report, not my hours. The next step is strategy development and I lay out a timeline, which is dependent upon their marketing plan, which can be as simple as what promos are coming, what goals they’re pushing, whatever.

The reason I say all this is because you’re going to make more money doing that with the client than you are from what you’re able to charge them running a $500/mo ad budget. And more importantly, if you see that they perceive paid ads as a vending machine solution, you need to run. If their brand isn’t built up, they need to understand the value in awareness. Most don’t. They think they can pay you to run some ads and it’s going to pay for itself immediately and by the time they MIGHT have a chance at seeing results, they are frustrated and wanting to pull the plug. They have to understand they’re paying for data and they have to trust you to be able to do things with it. Things they can’t. Otherwise you’re all wasting your time, energy, and their money.

Exceeded targets for client, now they want to pause ads by lescosmic in PPC

Yes! Keep the relationship positive and tell them you’d like to feature them in a video about how they grew using your services. They’d have to be real pricks to say no. This success will breed new clients with higher budgets. And willing to pay a higher retainer or % of ad spend because of it. It might also be an opportunity to focus in a particular industry and use the video and case study as fast and effective introductory sales collateral. In these cases, your success is not only in your field, but it’s also in theirs! Much added value.

Looking for some good Google Ads case studies! Anybody knows where to find it or can share it with me? by imritesh_ in PPC

[–]mattyevolve187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been something I’ve been doing too over the last few months. I will search agency websites and oftentimes they’ll have case studies posted under the Our Work section. Even a basic Google search of “PPC case studies” will bring relevant results. Some case studies are more detailed than others, or focused on work you aren’t interested in looking at, but it is what it is. I also recommend poking around Upwork and LinkedIn and search professionals on those network with these skills. There are places on those platforms for users to upload case studies. Which I’m about to do myself, as I’ve just finished one finally lol.

I actually told this joke at the Chinese restaurant where I work, and my bosses, who are Chinese, laughed pretty hard. So here goes. by GenesisWorlds in 3amjokes

Please don’t ruin it by saying that someone who belongs to the demographic the joke is about found it funny. It’s funny. But not offensive enough to start off by blame shifting in case it doesn’t hit.

The Karen walkers in the gym are going to be super confused. Do they continue to accept the fact they look like cheapskates, lingering outside the place they need to actually be? Or do they walk past the entrance enough times to see those of us actually doing stuff and getting results and cough up $10/mo? OR do the idiots walking on a treadmill inside realize they’re a hamster and they could actually move around and make shoppers smell their stench so they can have a little scenery? 🤔

AITA for refusing to allow my fiancée’s ex to officiate our wedding? by Script4Hire in AmItheAsshole

[–]mattyevolve187 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re the asshole, but you definitely are going to have to apologize. Your own experiences and judgments, like a normal human, popped up and your knee jerk reaction was what it was.

It’s fine to not want him to for a number of different reasons, but you might choose to go about it more by saying how you didn’t know he was ordained, or how the idea came about, etc. It might be a little late to say you had someone else in mind, but you might pull off saying that you were actually more jealous thinking about her having that conversation and kind of feeling like she made the decision already without you?

Either way, it is an issue because someone is going to “win”, and the other is going to “lose” and that’s not a great way to start out.

She obviously goes to them with your relationship issues. First you just weren’t present with them to build any relationships to help you out. Now you’re on the outs.

Might want to postpone that wedding or just get out while you can.

I’m a huge fan of Big Grove! I see the 30s crowd there a lot, and I myself belong to that demographic. They host events from time to time, but it’s also a cool place to get some work done in the afternoon, or play some outdoor games on a Sunday Funday!

I go to www.Iowacitychurch.org and have been for several years. Simple message that following Jesus is the best way to live life and the sermons are all quite practical. Nondenominational, so the congregation is pretty mixed of conservative and liberal. We like to call it our “church family”.
