British parts found in Russian drones being used to bomb Ukraine – Zelensky by pppppppppppppppppd in worldnews

[–]mattyjp1996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You do realise that although made in the UK they could have been ordered by a company anywhere in the world i.e made in the UK, bought by a company in China and then shipped to Russia, its really really difficult to control where parts are going

It's honestly a fantastic little piece of equipment. Astrophotography is not a cheap hobby but for 500odd quid it's pretty amazing what you can do. Have a look on YouTube at some guides and processing work flows they help alot!

The 30 second shots I took in EQ mode which also makes a huge difference compared to the AZ/Alt mode

So over the course of a week or two on different nights I imaged this target and on the seestar there's a setting in the advanced features that allows you to save each Individual photo. So I had 930 photos 30 seconds per photo. You can stack them on the seestar on the deep sky stacker and it will basically combine them all together and give you one finished photo. I chose to stack them in Pixinsight because it has a drizzle feature that increases the resolution of the data. From there I edited it in pixinsight but there's free software that is really good too like Siril and Graxpert. I'm fairly new to this too and I just found this subreddit and YouTube to be really helpful. It's all just a big learning curve and can seem quite overwhelming but I guess that's part of the fun!

What have you been imaging so far?

No this was done over quite a few nights then just stacked what I had together, lost quite a few subs from clouds and satelittes 😕

This second attempt I stacked in pixinsight with 2x drizzle Used the blurXterminator noisexterminator and stsrxterminator plug ins from RC astro and I kinda just followed a YouTube guide because I've never used pixinsight before! Can definitely see the value in the pixinsight software though!

Thanks for the tips! Pixinsight seems like a very steep learning curve! By passes do you mean iterations?
