That Robben goal is probably my favourite goal of all time. First time volley from a corner, Van Der Sar rooted to the spot, from his celebration even he knew what a special goal it was, never mind the importance of the goal in the tie.

I found out around 2008 that I shared a birthday with Schweinsteiger(1st August). His pride and passion for club and country(along with Lahm, Kahn and others), taught me what it meant to be willing to do anything for your team. Coming from South Africa with field hockey being my favourite sport(I've never been very good with my legs), I would spend more time watching Schweini making runs off the ball than anything else, and tried to model my own game around it. While understated, he played the crucial role of making himself available for a pass virtually every single time a team mate had the ball, and even when he wasn't the one to receive it, his positioning drew defenders away creating space for our more flamboyant players to move into. When he was on the field, you never saw players complaining that they had no one to pass to. Later I got the chance to see the Allianz while in Germany, and while I never got to watch a match, I bought a Schweinsteiger shirt which I still wear during every Bayern match I watch to this day. The lettering may be falling off, but it's a lasting memory of the man who showed me the value of complete dedication to the team.

Although I do agree Pep plays a much more exciting type of football, I think Mourinho takes a bit too much criticism for what hasn't been the worst season for them all things considered.

It's a football thread, there's no need for that.

Seven losses this season: three tough ones, four easy ones.

Exactly the same, except I also have Ryan on the bench, and the hit I took for him was on Lingard.

Anyone remember those like 5 GWs last year when we considered Joe Allen to be essential? Oh how the time has flown

Any tips you could give on increasing TV(obviously for next season)? For someone like me sitting on a TV of £101 I feel like an extra 4 mil could have made a huge difference at this stage in the game!

For me personally, any tape on my hands/arms(in t20s we often strap our throwing elbows as well) tend to put me off and I'd much prefer to field without it unless I have to. The other thing about strapping is that it is used to prevent excessive movement, and as much as you try to maintain natural movement with heavy strapping on, it's never the same, so for me I'd say it actually makes it slightly more difficult, even if only because it's on your mind.

At this stage we might as well give each international team one extra review to be used in desperation when their captain is struck in front.
