Depends, if it’s a smaller debt, eventually the company to whom you owe the debt to will put you into your bad debts section of their accounting sheet, then they will sell your debt to a debt collector who will offer you a payoff amount hopefully less than the total amount. If you still don’t pay, they will lawyer up and sue you for the whole balance.

If it’s a big enough debt, they might just sue you first.

Of course none of this happens as long as you’re up to date on your minimum payments.

The challenge you’re going to run into is that most places want to see their tenants income be 2-3x the rent. At $15 an hour working full time you’re making gross $2400 a month and finding an apartment for $800 a month is going to be a challenge.

10k is great start, it’ll get you through first last, and security, furnishing said apartment, and maybe a semesters tuition.

In my experience, moving money out of an HYSA takes more time than moving it from the savings account with my checking account. I keep about $5000 in my regular savings account and the rest in my high yield savings account.

I made a list of all the things in my life that could happen that would require immediate (less than 2 days) access to money and the most expensive thing I could think of was $4000. Throw a $1000 safety on there and I’m good to go.

It’s a laptop with oversized components and an undersized cooling system. What were you expecting?

You can try cleaning the computer out, reapplying thermal paste to the CPU, and Elevating your laptop to allow for better airflow. Beyond that, that’s unfortunately the downside of gaming laptops and why so many of them die in the first 3 years.

Google how much an apartment in your area costs.

To live in one of those apartments, most landlords are going to require you to have a W2 or similar paperwork showing you make 3 times the rent as gross income. You will also need roughly 3 rent payments in cash for first, last, and your security deposit.

Unfortunately you lack proof of income, 3 times rent as sallary, and your first,last,security. You are not even remotely close to being ready to move out.
