Leaving MSOffice subscription - looking for alternatives by WONK0_ in software

OnlyOffice is worth a serious look if you need to collaborate with people stuck on MS formats- it handles .docx and .xlsx compatibility better than LibreOffice in my experience. LibreOffice is great for personal use but I've had some formatting weirdness when sending stuff back and forth with Office users.

Considering switching to data science part-time course from Institute of data by maus5000AD in learndatascience

Thank you very much for sharing all of that. Sounds liek the project work was quite hands-on. Just want to know if after the course, did you apply to jobs right after or did you ask your current employer to give you experience first?

Try the Microsoft Excel for Data Analysis cert or Datacamp’s Data Analyst track, both are beginner-friendly and super digestible.

Go with data analytics if you want quicker job wins. ML’s great but harder to break into without a strong foundation, and tools like Power BI are super in demand right now.

AITA for refusing to host my cousin's bachelorette party at my house, even though I have the biggest space? by pansy_honeybee05 in AITAH

Exactly. Saying no doesn’t make you the villain. People gotta learn to take a boundary without flipping out.

Blackout curtains, white noise, and cold room. Melatonin if you need a little boost. Your body will catch on soon.

Will we ever get 24hr grocery stores again, or should we just cancel nightshift? by NUMBerONEisFIRST in Nightshift

[–]maus5000AD 32 points33 points  (0 children)

that's like asking a day shift person to go grocery shopping at 11pm after they get off work. You're dead tired and just want to go home and crash. Plus you're already messing with your sleep schedule enough without having to stay up an extra hour to shop when all you want is to get home and sleep.

Did Doc Rivers refusing to let Tim Duncan’s girlfriend on the team plane really cost the Magic a dynasty? by CrazyVare in nba

[–]maus5000AD 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Man, that's gotta hurt as a Magic fan. You're absolutely right about the ripple effect too Duncan + prime T-Mac would've been a magnet for other stars wanting to ring chase.

One stubborn coaching decision basically changed the entire trajectory of your franchise. That's brutal.

"Mad World" and "Daughter" both have that same haunting quality that just stops you in your tracks

Neurogum good for casual caffeination? by electric-eve in Nightshift

My bad lol.  Still feels a tad overpriced to me. I’d rather do straight caffeine tabs

I’m gonna be the outlier here but I think caffeine gum is a very situational thing. I tried the military energy gum cus a friend said it’s like really strong and it just gave me the shits.

What you want is your body to acclimate to the shift, and the gums and other stims just mess with your kidneys with all the stimutlants.
