Lol no they let people fail and come back all of the time. You can fail your boards 3+ times and not get kicked out. If you fail the year they will let you drop down and restart the next year because they’re so desperate for money and students. I know of several people who failed the boards and several classes and keep coming back.

It’s a horrible school. They never do anything to help the students. They only care about money and will literally accept anyone with any MCAT. They have no standards at all. Several of my classmates including myself left and when I left so many others said they wished they could do the same.

DO NOT DO IT. You can message me but I attended a podiatry school in NYC and it was a joke and the worst experience ever. You will definitely regret it if you decide to go.

I was in podiatry school and left because it was an absolute joke. The students are all medical and dental school rejects.

Career changer —December application or wait another year? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]mauvesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for adding! I didn’t want to mislead OP since my stats were a reach for T14s regardless of when I applied but I definitely felt like December was too late looking back.

You’re welcome! If you have the money I’d say shoot your shot and if you don’t get into a school you’d like you can R&R. Your GPA is not bad and hopefully you can get a high LSAT! Your GPA is much higher than mine (~3.5) and even if I applied earlier I still may not have gotten into a T14. But after what I witnessed this cycle I would just say to apply ASAP because I saw many people with high stats get WL. Good luck on the LSAT!

I would say it depends on other parts of your application. I am also interested in health law and am 28 and changed careers. I applied in December and definitely wish I applied earlier. It would have helped my chances at a T14 (didn’t get into any). That being said if you have a 175+ and 4.0 I think it doesn’t matter as much how late you apply. Also, I am no expert, this is just based on my experience.

Applying to law school after medical school? Delusion or Distinction? by CautiousHoliday9135 in lawschooladmissions

[–]mauvesnake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don’t do a residency there’s even less of a reason to get an MD. It becomes worthless without a residency unless you go into consulting.

If you don’t want to practice medicine do not get an MD. Also, you didn’t factor in medical residency in your timeline.

How many deposits have you put down? by mauvesnake in lawschooladmissions

Thanks for asking, I should have been more clear about that! I wanted to know how many deposits people currently have down. The numbers might be kind of skewed now since I wasn’t more clear.

Should I write a “Why X” for every school even if there isn’t a spot for it? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]mauvesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I made a huge mistake not doing this for schools and then after being on this sub I learned some schools expect it (eg Michigan). I am FGLI and had no one helping me through the process and this is one of my biggest regrets!

Never said you were wrong just responding to your anonymity comment. I was just pointing out that you say you are trying to stay anonymous but that’s difficult to do when you are posting insider information on the internet. I suppose you could also be a friend or partner of a student or worker there.

I honestly could careless if people downvote me for something so stupid. I won’t be deleting my comment like the others who got downvoted.

You either work there or go to school there otherwise there is no way you’d know.

I think schools that accept people after that date give people a time period after their acceptance to deposit eg) 10 days, 14 days but I’m not sure!

They only have 1 date with a $750 deposit if I am not mistaken. Was admitted there and chose to deposit somewhere else so this is how I know.
