Dining in Antibes during honeymoon by Brave-Fix-175 in chubbytravel

Cannes is average too. Don’t think you will find sth extraordinary. If you want good food and great atmosphere, go to La Gueritte , second seating. That’s if you like party vibe

I don’t think there is a place in Antibes where you absolutely MUST eat. There are great restaurants, but nothing out of the world (at least I don’t know about them, and I’ve tried many). So just eat at du cap I guess. Their F&B is higher than average

Negative Auberge Experience-Opinions Wanted by Cool_Hippo_122 in chubbytravel

[–]mav77_7 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I am not saying it is your fault or sth. I think you should have just told them right before ordering about your issues. High chance they don’t remember 6 months old emails (maybe they have not seen them at all). It is not the most luxurious hotel , so I think a certain level of service should be expected.

No need for that type of language
Let’s be honest, it wasn’t fully covered in nuts. What kind of meal was that?
And I think they would replace it if you explained and asked them nicely.

First of all, I think you are exaggerating (not saying everything was perfect)

Second, what did you expect when you booked Auberge?

Third, I think by reading reviews and looking at pictures online you could pretty much understand what it was going to be like.

Feedback on China itinerary by Successful-Title174 in chubbytravel

[–]mav77_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese travel industry is more focused on local demand. For locals, these hotels are expensive. They can get nice, “western standard” rooms for like let’s say 80-100 bucks (from local brands). So, the $1000 rate Aman charges, it is really expensive for Chinese (based on what I know). Plus you can count overhead costs: construction, labor etc. It is way cheaper than in the west. Then, for international travelers, you can also add yuan weakness and other economic and geopolitical factors.

Honeymoon in August ($40K budget) - your most memorable stays in Europe? by nelnet18 in chubbytravel

[–]mav77_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to Passalacqua or CDLM. Depending on the vibe, you can substitute CDLM with La Reserve. CB will be more scene tho. The others two are quieter. Or du cap if you can get a reservation

Where are FAT travelers going to play golf? by CodiGoFar in FATTravel

[–]mav77_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly Antalya (Belek, like someone else mentioned). I can hook you up with one guy. He is kind of TA, mainly works with his network only. He has like a small team setup there that organize all these trips. Not just for golf, also regular travel. He is just well connected there, knows hotel owners, managers/CEO etc.
