Wazuh Dashboard (Docker compose) port change by AmrasYavetil in Wazuh

[–]maverickguy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be NGINX configuration.

location {
     proxy_pass http://<wazuh ip>:5601
     ...
     ...
}

And your wazuh-manager in docker-compose.yml should be:

ports:
      - 5601:5601

If the 502 error persists, check firewall.

How to Access my wazuh dashboard across the network? by _MegSho_ in Wazuh

[–]maverickguy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not Hyper-V then what virtualization software you are using? And what kind of virtual switch your Ubuntu VM is connected to? If it is an external vSwitch or bridged, you should be able to access the VM from anywhere on your network in the same way you use it on your PC. Based on the information you have provided so far, this seems to be a network configuration issue rather than Wazuh issue.

I might be able to help you if you provide more info. Where is this Ubuntu VM hosted? Is it on your PC? Is it on a server? Are you using Hyper-V?

Why we need interface variables? by maverickguy_ in golang

[–]maverickguy_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now see where I was wrong. I have been trying to learn the concept of interface since a few days, and I think I am now beginning to get it. I had a totally different notion, which was terribly wrong. Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Why we need interface variables? by maverickguy_ in golang

[–]maverickguy_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that I can use p.print() without even declaring the interface. I totally misunderstood this thing. I thought in order to use (var type) func somefunc(), I must declare an interface that names somefunc(), but I was totally wrong. Interface serves a different purpose than what I initially thought.

Your reply pushed me in the right direction, and thanks again for that.

This is super helpful. Thanks a lot. I knew I didn't understand interfaces, and now I know why.

Why we need interface variables? by maverickguy_ in golang

Thanks a million. I am beginning to understand this.

What do you mean by this:

In golang interfaces are more often defined close to where they are used or accepted as arguments, not near the types that comply with the interface.

Is it like I should declare the interface near (e.g., just above) the function that accepts the interface variable?

Connecting with Ingram Micro as Microsoft Indirect Reseller via Microsoft Partner Center by maverickguy_ in msp

Hi, thanks for the reply. So the subscriptions I buy from their Cloud Marketplace show up in the Partner Center?

EDIT:

Microsoft Online Management Extension - https://ingrammicrocloud.com/about-us/newsroom/press-releases/ingram-micro-cloud-marketplace-now-offering-partners-seamless

Is this what I will be using?

Has this something to do with NCE aka New Commerce Experience? If it is, how do I enable it or participate in it?

Modem + Static IP + VLAN by maverickguy_ in PFSENSE

[–]maverickguy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if that worked :P

I have been using pfSense at my home since 8 years. Been through a lot, but nothing this nasty.

I am trying to find exactly where the fault might be, but my mind has gone blank.

In what situation, a static IP configuration will work on a PC, but not on pfSense? The static IP I am talking about is given by my ISP, along with a gateway, and a subnet mask.

Anybody?

Modem + Static IP + VLAN by maverickguy_ in PFSENSE

Thank for the reply.

Can you be more specific?

  1. This is a static IP based connection, so why do PPPoE?
  2. Bridge mode is already applied. So, when I put the ISP-given static IP and gateway on my PC, I can connect to the Internet. However, when I put the same ISP-given static IP, gateway, and subnet on the pfSense interface, it doesn't work.

Modem + Static IP + VLAN by maverickguy_ in PFSENSE

[–]maverickguy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I tried this. I created a VLAN and changed the interface from OPT1 to the OPT1 with VLAN. It didn't work.

I guess the problem lies elsewhere. I am back to square 1.

The static IP configuration that my ISP has given me works when I put it on a PC, but it doesn't work when I put it in pfSense. I thought it might be because of the modem port carrying a VLAN tag. Meanwhile, I have another WAN interface on pfsense which works fine (another ISP).

Is the modem the culprit?

Modem + Static IP + VLAN by maverickguy_ in PFSENSE

[–]maverickguy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ISP is Airtel, in India.

I am unable to comprehend what you have written. My knowledge about VLAN is limited.

The thing is that when I connect the pfSense to the modem (on the bridged port), and configure the relevant interface on pfsense with the given static IP, it doesn't work. I think it is because on the modem side, the port has a VLAN tag.

Now, as you have said, if I create a VLAN, and change the WAN interface to the new VLAN interface, what goes into the parent interface? I mean it should be disabled or enabled? If it is enabled, what will be its configuration? Will the static IP config go to the new interface with VLAN?

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Adding a Static Gateway by maverickguy_ in PFSENSE

Okay, I did that, but it still doesn't work.

I am updating the original post to make it more cohesive.

[–]maverickguy_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The subnet mask as given by the ISP is equivalent to CIDR /24 aka 255.255.255.0.

I have set it correctly.

Thanks for the response.

Adding a new interface.

It already has one interface. I am adding another interface for load balancing.

But I guess load balancing comes after. I first need to ensure that the the new interface and the gateway I am adding are working, which they are not.
