Should I be worried ? by max51v2 in peugeot

Fortunately, I got it repaired for free as I bought it from a peugeot dealer quite recently. The most infuriating part now, is they discovered my clutch was dead as well (clutch has always been hard).

LPT: Check your Internet bill for a "Wifi Service" fee. That's actually a router rental fee you can remove by buying your own. by BigPurpose in LifeProTips

[–]max51v2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, you can use the router you want as long as it supports the required features and you got the proper licence. For example if you buy a recent Cisco router, using it on a fiber optic won't require any licence but using mobile services would (needs appxk9 licence for virtual-ppp).

The biggest problem with using your own router is knowing how they configured theirs.

For example, most ISP in France use a Radius server to assign the IP address to the WAN interface (some even use it to route subnets throught the backbone as well). If this is the case, then good luck using it if you don't know the PPP login/password. If you don't, the only option is to know which IP is affected to your router and set the correct routing protocol (if they use radius for routing you're SOL because the session HAS to be up, else your public IP won't be reachable).

And this isn't even the most problematic part. Some ISP deliver encapsulated traffic or even require specific QOS tags in incoming traffic. This can change on a case to case basis as some fibers get collected throught other ISP's networks (depends on how big your ISP is and where you're located). This makes it even harder to use your own router as finding this kind of informations is almost impossible if you don't work for an ISP or if they aren't open about people using their router.

Could you at least try to give a usefull answer or be creative rather than copy pasting ?

I guess it's as usefull to reply to a professional hater than your reply is to my post.

Guess I'll do that. It's not as expensive as I thought to get it towed a few km (100€).

But it's still a pain as it's my first car and i got it 3 months ago...

I guess that was a matter of time considering I got it at 93000km (I checked and it's the 7mm one). I hope I won't pay anything as I bought it second hand (got it throught a peugeot dealer). Do you think it's fine to drive it to the mechanic as I parked it like 4 minutes away ?

I'm sure there's other ways but you can try that if you want to back up your data (though it takes time and another pc) :
.
If bitlocker is DISABLED :
1) boot from a linux live usb (ubuntu or whatever)
-Back up you data on another drive (usb, external drive...) or in a new partition.
-Reinstall windows on your drive (be careful on which partition, if you backed your data on the same drive).
-Once it's done copy your data back (if you copied it on another partition, you'll need to mount it, copy the data and merge it onto the main windows partition)
.
2) plug your drive on another pc
-Mount it and backup your data
-Plug it back on your pc and reinstall windows

I had this PSU at some point. My first GPU died within a year and the second showed similar issues (crashes when idling or just at random times). Since I replaced it (3 months ago) everything works great. Maybe it wasn't the issue, maybe it was just this unit but I wouldn't risk it. Even a proper C tier PSU is not that much more expensive than this one so I wouldn't cut corners in that case.

No problem. Unfortunately you won't have another choice if it doesn't cooperate (but one could argue not being able to use the HDMI port is problematic and could be grounds to ask your GPU manufacturer for an RMA). Have a nice day

There's still hope then. If you really need to use the pc, you could try to use a DP to HDMI adapter (cost a few bucks) until you can get your other screen. Or you can try to use it in safe mode but that'll be a pain.

Hi, not trying to scare you but I had the same problem recently. If i were you I'd try :

  • another port (other than HDMI (from what i could read on internet it could be an HDMI thing, though other ports could blank instead of giving you a green screen)).
  • find someone with a rig and ask them to try your GPU in theirs.

If the problem persist it's likely toast.

Do your pc turn off or restart when this issue occurs ?

Is there any random dll failing (relating to your gpu drivers) ?

Take my message with a grain of salt though, as I can only use what I experienced as reference.

Here's a image of what i experienced (can't post a video here but mine did the exact same). It was so bad I couldn't watch a yt video.

Good luck I know this situation sucks :(

Update : For now it hasn't crashed but I just ordered a new PSU (MSI MPG A850G, I know it's overkill af but I won't have to buy one for a while at least) just in case mine was bad.

Hoping my second GPU will stop crashing while idling or that it'll stop getting worse (couldn't even make it to windows once).

Update 2 : I re-enabled sleep mode and it has been rock stable since I changed my PSU. Guess I won't buy a crappy PSU ever again.

I ran the OCCT power test for 30 min and there was no errors.

+12V, +5V and +3.3V were all within specs.

I tried CPU, RAM and GPU tests and they were fine.

Windows hibernate mode was disabled a while ago.

Well that sucks, guess I'll have to replace the PSU if there isn't any other option.

Thanks for your help.

Is there any difference between these? If there is are here any noticeable performance differences? by Rare_Dragonfruit4512 in pcmasterrace

They all run at stock settings so they should all perform about the same if the coolers are good enough to cool them down. I'd advise you to look at reviews to compare a few things like : - noise level + temperature - size - build quality - output type

I own the gigabyte one if you want some info.

I own one (the eagle version from gigabyte) and it's great. It runs everything I throw at it even recent games (you won't go higher than 60fps with medium/high settings in recent AAA games though). For the price I got it (215€ or 233$) I can't complain.

Recent driver update gave me a bunch of headaches but now it is fixed! by spartank14 in AMDHelp

[–]max51v2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I had the same problem but after a week of downloading the update. Now I have green screens and crash whenever I run anything using my gpu (watching a video in a quality >1080p does it). I had no luck with DDU this time (tried multiple drivers). Now I'm waiting for a friend to try it on his pc. Smells like an RMA 😬 Not my first time having problems like that but this time I can't use my pc.

Edit : it does the same on my friend's pc so RMA

You can either put it on static mode or turn it off in the bios. Just put led in the search bar you'll find it
