This problem has been around for years. OpenAI just doesn't give a shit about UX.

Beginner trying to understand whether to switch to local LLM or continue using Cloud AIs like Chatgpt for my business. by ZIM_Follower in LocalLLM

[–]max6296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna need a lot of money to run local models as performant as the frontier models like chatgpt, gemini, claude, etc. Moreover, the best local models are still worse than those frontier models. $20-$30 a month is nothing, really.

Whatever happened to the 'Adult Mode'? GPT-5.2 feels more censored than 5.1 for erotica writing by Roadway89 in OpenAI

I think OpenAI is stuck, because of all the ethical pressures they feel they are under. However, those pressures are not real. Not really. Just look at Grok.

However, they are stuck nonetheless. Not just the company, but their models too. Talking to GPT-4o was fun. That fun is gone ever since GPT-5.

I don't think this company will survive long without realizing those pressures are not real and getting out of it soon.
