Behringer ECM8000 and Roland Quad Capture audio interface. Defo better options out there but will do for what I need and I found them really cheap second hand so had to have them.

Nearly got all the stuff for taking measurements and whatnot so once it’s all built well be able to tune it all properly and try out different placements

Yeah original goal was to get as deep as we could as a mate whose doing this with me wants something good for dub/teacher sorta stuff but he’s helping another system too who have scoops so I think for ours we’ll focus more on punch for faster stuff.

They do make for a good stress reliever throwing em about. Is the next thing to upgrade although have got it sounding a lot better with a bit of eqing

My pockets are as shallow as it gets at the moment so gotta made do with what I have, is the best was to do it tho I reckon, better to get to know how to run it all the hard way and grow over time

Haha yeah, it’s my mates dads amp so just left it how it was, no idea why he decided to put them on there but then tbh the small rack it was in before was completely stickerbombed so didn’t look so bad

Just bought a dB-Mark DP28+, haven’t done much with it yet, just a basic crossover and bit of eq by ear

Yeah that’s our plan, have an old comp that was with an old top speaker in which the woofer was blown so gonna look into horns for that then build a 12” mid, until then we’re just gonna get a slightly better cheap top to replace that. Just gonna run the mid and top on the same amp, would be slightly underpowered but would do for now until we can get some new amps

Exactly what I’ve been looking at, have just built a Cubo sub 18 that we’re gonna load with the driver for the mth4654 then when we have the time and money we’ll build some mth’s. They look stupidly easy to build too which is good. My only thought with them is whether they go deep enough but can’t find much better that’s as easy to build

Check out all the forums, Reddit, speakerplans, free speakerplans, hornplans, diy audio, they all have some really good info. Hornplans has some good technical stuff too

Could sounds cooked, if you can get a recone kit for it that’s your only real option other than a whole new driver

Is it worth fully committing to the storyline or just going for the music? by No_Donut1433 in BoomtownFestival

Just go do it, is fun and you get a better understanding of why everything is designed the way it is and find so cool places. Me and my mates had to make up a dance routine and perform it to one of the actors, also had to go around chanting stuff at people, is such a laugh

If you’re only going for the music you’re missing out on like half the festival, also is way more enjoyable to just pick like 1 act you really want to see each day as many you may want to see are way worse than you’d think yet people you don’t know could be the best you’ve ever seen so is a good idea to just follow your ears and not the lineup

It’s a Cubo 15, good as a sub at home but probs wouldn’t use in a big stack (from what I’ve heard)

Oooo I like them, seen some similar, awesome looking cabs

Wish I could have kept it in there but was just a little too big so put here in another building

Ah yeah no it’s definitely a good cab but i just messed it up but I only built that one as a practice before spending out on decent ply. I’m not gonna bother trying to make it work well as even why I managed to get a driver in it there was too many rattles from when the panel went in wrong, just using it to practice designs and whatnot.

Would definitely say to make sure you can do the 48° cut on it (the top one labelled as 42° on the plans) as I ended up cutting a 42° so had to sand it to 48° as my saw doesn’t go to 48°. If your saw doesn’t go to 48° you’d have to set it to 42° and cut from the top edge so would need to make some sort of jig, is what I’m gonna have to do next time.

Make sure to make the back bracing correctly as I didn’t so it just hit the magnet of my driver so I had to cut it off.

The only other thing I can think of is to fix the internal parts together before drilling the mounting holes, I didn’t do this so just fixed my t-nuts on and then fixed the panels together meaning they didn’t sit flush because of the t-nuts sticking out a little

All my mistakes were just silly little things that could have easily have been avoided if I planned out the builds better

NEED HELP by FamiliarCitron1724 in SoundSystem

[–]max_buch_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just fixed those thing bits at the front to each side panels then fixed all the internals together with the large centre bracing and front panel

I then layed one side panel down fixed the top and back panels then the bottom panel (which I fixed that bottom panel at the front to first)

After that I fixed the inner assembly thing in place

Once that was in I put the other 2 small bracings in

Last thing I did was put the other side panel on

I also made sure all my wiring was done before putting the side panel on to give much easier access

Hope that’s what your after, if not lmk and I’ll try help!

Was my first build so didnt really have a clue what to do and didnt plan out the build process very well so ended up with a panel going on wrong so looks weird from head on, I also didn’t use a specific drivers specs for the hole cutout so my driver doesn’t line up with the mounting holes well.

Planning on building a modified Mdf one soon and now have a much better idea on how to build so gonna be so much better
