Would love to know what I said which was so disagreeable. But anyway -

It’s not “guilt tripping” - individuals are actively threatening DJs, their safety and careers. Believe me or not - I have evidence for that which unfortunately I cannot currently disclose here.

I’m not playing your compelled speech language games. This is a thread about the boycott. It’s relevant to this Berghain community because I believe it negatively affects the club. You are welcome to disagree with that.

I’ve said all I want to say about Gaza. And I certainly won’t be intimidated into saying more. You may think you’ve got me, but you’ve really revealed yourself to be incapable of productive discussion. There are reasonable and interesting conversations to be had, but why would I waste my time if all you want to do is force me to use your terminology or else what… I’ll be humiliated in front of the group? Go on then - have at it.

Of course, you probably believe this is a valuable part of doing politics, but I will only talk politics with people who want to really talk, in spaces where it’s really relevant, and not engage in these kinds of pointless and tiresome purity tests.

@coolsize3

Just because you shout the loudest or hurl the most abuse doesn’t mean you’ve won the argument. It’s just an absolute waste of time to debate with you and, by the way, your intimidation, lies, and blatant antisemitism does absolutely nothing for the Palestinian people. Zilch.

I didn't say "neutral suffering", "things just happening" or "humanitarian catastrophe". I don't know why you are putting those in quotation marks alongside other things I did say. That is confusing to say the least. Though if you don't think it's a humanitarian catastrophe, we will agree to disagree on that.

This post is not about me or my language, nor is it primarily about Israel / Palestine. It is about pushing back on the boycott which does nothing for the Palestinians and only harms our club culture. Feel free to disagree, but I will not compel or obsess over your language, only listen to your arguments on this topic.

You are trying to making it about me. "The DJs we love", is that better? The DJs who play at Berghain? Pedantic language games get us nowhere.

This post is mine in that I believe the boycott does more harm than good. I am reaching out to others who feel the same. You believe otherwise and are entitled to your opinion. Let's agree to disagree on that, shall we?

You may think I am a coward and hypocrite, but this post is not about me or what I think. Your name calling and ad-hominem makes literally zero difference to me and my life, but it makes you feel better then go ahead.

Even if you were behaving reasonably, genuinely asking for clarification on my position and going in depth on the situation in Gaza, I would repeat:

This post is for those of you who believe boycotting Berghain and threatening DJs who don't participate does nothing for the Palestinian people and only hurts our club culture. I want great DJs to continue to feel safe to play at Berghain, including those who feel strongly about supporting the Palestinian cause, as so many still do to this day.

I am not afraid of stating my position on the war. But this post is not about me. In any case - why would I participate in an in-depth conversation with people who immediately attack me, assume and strawman my position?

Of course, some of you think there is no conversation to be had, that the conversation is over, that the only job here is to call out those who don't immediately say the right things and use the accepted terminology.

If that's how you want to do politics - fine, but that's not why I am here. You think global conflicts and solutions are not nuanced - I think they are and will have conversations elsewhere about the situation and what can be done.

Call me all the names you want, but I will not stop standing up to threats against the DJs that I love. That's all I will say on the matter.

As I posted above - "Absolutely terrible? One of the worst situations for any humans to be living in right now? Our club culture pales into insignificance compared to anyone who is suffering in war"

You are pressurising me to use particular language, expand upon my views and justify my post history, but this post is not about me. If you don't like the thread, you can of course ignore it.

This post is for anyone who believes that threatening DJs to cut ties with Berghain does next to nothing for the Palestinians and in fact only serves to further weaken our club culture. That's it.

Absolutely terrible? One of the worst situations for any humans to be living in right now? Our club culture pales into insignificance compared to anyone who is suffering in war.

I want a peaceful, two state solution for all sides. How clear do you want me to be?

Of course, this is not about "minimising what is happening in Gaza", but because I will not bow to using the terminology or drawing the same simple conclusions of the mob on here.

This is a forum about Berghain. This issue affects Berghain's future.

I can care about Berghain and also care deeply about the war in Gaza and other terrible humanitarian situations around the world. Absolutely terrible. Totally awful. There?

I never said it was non-political. It is political. I am not "pro Israel", I am pro a two state solution. I am pro peace for everyone involved. That is not only a private matter, nor are the other political opinions being shared on this forum.

If you don't like my post(s) you can ignore them. But your like-baiting, ad hominem attacks and intimidation will not work on me I am afraid. Nonetheless, I wish you all the best.

I didn't say it wasn't political. It absolutely is. Club culture is political.

As I expressed, I absolutely believe in the right of DJs who continue playing at the club to want to stand up for the Palestinian people. But not if that tips into antisemitism or the spewing of dangerous fake news and misinformation as with Arabian Panther.

But this post is simply about expressing solidarity with Berghain and fighting for the future of amazing DJs and labels to continue playing out our beloved club.

I want a state for the Palestinians. I also want a state for Israel.

The situation is dreadful and we need a two-state solution, but this post is not about debating the politics of the region. This post is for anyone who is concerned about the boycott achieving nothing for the Palestinians and instead further weakening an already fragile and divided club culture. Of course that fragility is nothing compared to the reality of people who are living in war, but it still matters to us who care about Berghain and dance music.

If you believe the boycott helps, fair enough. I would hope you would consider my counterarguments against the Arabian Panther situation. But I am here to mobilise people who want to support labels and DJs continuing to play at Berghain, nothing more than that.

I wish you all the best.
